Chicama is the longest left hand wave in the world. The water is cold most of the year, a 3.2mm neoprene suit works.
The best waves are from the south or west, as the winds are from the south and southwest.
Generally the waves are for beginners, but in big swells the waves can reach 15 feet.
The best months are between March and November.
About surfboards, take your usual surfboard, a fun one (fish or longboard) and another for bigger swells.
