Mexico (The United Mexican States) is the fifth largest county in the Americas. It is bordered on the north by the United States; on the south and west by the Pacific Ocean; on the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and on the east by the Gulf of Mexico.
The capital city, and the largest, is Mexico City. The official language is Spanish. Its currency is the Mexico Peso.
Mexico is easily accessible from the US and there are world class spots a few hours south of the border.

Mexico is a fantastic country for surfing. There's a huge variety of breaks and plenty of swell. Uncrowded breaks can be found along the entire length of the Pacific Ocean coastline. The waves can be surfed all year round, and the coastline is pounded with consistent surf. Mexico has over 6000 miles of coastline with over 1500 miles on the mainland Pacific.
April to October is the main season and with nice weather, warm water temperatures and good waves, you could not ask for anything more.
Waves are generated all year round by the deep Southern Ocean low pressure systems and more localised tropical storms, June to October being hurricane season.
A great place for a surf trip is the southern tip of
Baja California - the place is a swell magnet and it is totally lacking crowds. There is a large
variety of waves to suit everyone
from beginner to the most experienced surfer.
Waves to check out are
Puerto Escondido - one of the best beachbreaks in the world - and
waves around the Oaxaca region in the south. And here it is:
