General Description
This spot is situated in Golfo de Nicoya. Esterillos Oeste is an exposed beach break that consists of a long sandy stretch with some lava reefs outside. It picks up much swell (even more than Hermosa) and has different sections of reef breaking along to abouthalf a mile mile offshore. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the South even if winds blow also from the north. More fun in the afternoon. Uncrowded.

How to get there
Out of Jaco, follows signs to Quepos and after 18 Km you will see signs for Esterillos Oeste. Just drive to the coast and park under a tree.
Where to Stay
Hotel La Dolce Vita, just at the beach in front of the spot or La Sirena Hotel in front of the mermeid.
