There are two waves at Mullaghmore. The first is a beachbreak that breaks northeast of the headland and provides some resonable waves.
It's suitable throughout the year for beginners. Best from October to April.
The second of Mullaghmore's waves has become famous over the last few years as Ireland's premier big wave spot. Breaking off the headland, this spot can easily hold waves in excess of 20 feet and remains surfable in the biggest swells the Atlantic has to offer.
