What is CBT?

 Training delivery approach that focuses on the


competency development of a learner as a result of
the training.
 Focuses on outcomes rather than the learning
within the specified time
 Concernend with the attainment and application of
knowledge, skills and attitude to a specific level of
competency
10 Principles of CBT

 The training is based on curriculum developed


from the competency standards.
 Learning is competency-based or modular in
structure.
 Training delivery is individualized and self-paced.
 Training is based on work that must be performed.
 Training materials are directly related to the
competency standards and the curriculum
modules.
Role of the Trainees

 Choose what they want to learn and when they want to


learn it.
 Learn at their own rate within the program guidelines.
 Trainees decide when they are ready to perform each
task or demonstrate mastery of learning to a job-like
level of proficiency.
Role of the Trainer

 Manage learning process and providing consultations.


 Evaluates progress and achievements.
 Assigning what is to be learned.
 Provides constructive feedbacks.
 Helps those students/trainee’s who really need help.
How to use the CBLM

 Read information sheets and complete all the self-


checks.
 Perform the Task sheets and Job sheets until you are
confident that your outputs conform to the
performance criteria checklist.
 Submit outputs of the task and Job sheets to your
trainer for evaluation and recording in the
accomplishment chart.
