4. First Aid Measures

1 General advice : Remove contaminated clothing


If Inhaled : Keep patiewnt calm, remove to fresh air

On skin contact : wash thoroughtly with soap and water

On contact with eyes : wash affacted eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with
eyelids haid open

On ingestion : Rinse mouth and then drink plenty of water

Note to physician :Treatment symptomatic treatment ( decontamination, vital functions )


Information on : Difenacoum
Treatment : Symptomatic treatment ( decontamination, vital functions ). Medical
monitoring for at least 24-48 hours
Antidote : Vitamin K1 preparation as antidote

5. Fire- Fighting Measures

Suitable extinguishing media : water spray, dry extinguishing media, foam, carbon dioxide

Special protective equipment : wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical-


protective clothing

Further information :
Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire. In case of fire and/or explosion
do not breathe fumes. Collect contaminated extinguishing water separately, do not allow to
reach sewage or effluent systems. Dispose of fire debris and contaminated extinguishing water in
according with official regulations

6. Accidental Release Measures

Personal precautions : Avoid contact with the skin, eyes, and clothing. Avoid inhalation. Use
personal protective clothing.

Environmental precautions : Do not discharge into the subsoil/soil. Do not discharge into
drains/surface waters/groundwater.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up :


For large amounts : contain with dust binding material and dispose of. Collect waste in suitable
containers, which can be labeled and sealed. Clean contaminated floors and objects thouroughly
with water and detergents, observing environmental regulatiobs. Incinerate or take to a special
waste disposal site in accordance with local authority regulations.

7. Handling and Storage

Handling :
No special measures necessary if stored and handled correctly. If dead and/or dying rats or mice
are found during and after the control program, these must be leared away immediately in order
to avoid secondary poisoning phenomena. Do not pply in the open ( use bait boxes, bait cartons
or foil bags ).

Protection against fire and explosion :
Avoid dust formation. Avoid deposition of dust. Prevent electrostatic charge-source of igniion
should be kept well clear – fire extinguishers should be kept handy.

Storage
Segregate from foods and animal feeds. Further information on storage conditions: Protect
against moisture. Keep away from heat. Protect drom direct sunlight.

Storage stability : Storage duration 24 months

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection:
Breathing protection if breathable / dust are formed. Particle filter with medium efficiency for
solid and liquid particles .

Hand protection : Althought gloves are not required for safe use of the product, they are
recommended for protection against rodent – borne diseases.

Eye protection : Required when there is arisk of eye contact.

Body protection : Body protection must be chosen based on level of activity and exposure

General safety and hygiene measures : Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Waring of
closed work clothing is recommended. Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose
of safely. Store work clothing separately. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.
No eating, drinking, smoking or tobacco use at the place of work. Hands and/or face should be
washed before braks and the end of the shift.
