Module Description: This module is all about the ICT Competency Standards for
Teachers and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) National
Educational Technology Standards. This will inform the user what ICT requirements
both local and international are set before them. Further, the introductory module
includes the basic concepts of ICT and the Roles of Technology in Teaching and
Learning.
Module Guide:
In using this module, students must bear in mind that they should have focus in
all the things they will read. At the same time, they must imagine that they are inside
the classroom while answering the activities given. If words are vague and hard to
understand, students must find time to unlock the meaning of those words on their
own.
Module Outcomes:
1. Identified the competency standards of ICT for teaching and learning in pre-
service teacher education.
2. Unpacked the basic concepts of ICT to provide common understanding for
teachers and learners.
3. Valued the use of ICT in the teaching and learning processes.
Module Requirements:
At the end of this module, the students are expected to write a reflection.
