Hóe-sêng-gâm (火成岩; Eng-gí: igneous rock) sī gâm-chiuⁿ ia̍h iông-giâm léng-khiok kap gêng-kò͘ liáu-āu só͘ hêng-sêng ê chi̍t khoán gâm-chio̍h. Hóe-sêng-gâm hām tui-chek-gâm kap piàn-sêng-gâmgâm-chio̍h-khoan lāi, saⁿ khoán chú-iàu ê cho͘-sêng gâm-chio̍h.[1] Kàu-taⁿ í-keng hoat-hiān 700 goā chióng hóe-sêng-gâm, toā-poàⁿ lóng sī tē-khak tiong ê gâm-chio̍h. Chia̍p-khoàⁿ ê hóe-sêng-gâm ū hoa-kong-gâm, an-san-gâm kap hiân-bú-gâm.

Koàn-ji̍p (貫入) ê ì-sù sī gâm-chiuⁿ kǹg ji̍p-khì (貫入去) bú-gâm (母岩) lāi-té, bān-bān-á léng-khiok, gêng-kò͘ ê kòe-têng. Thàu-kòe koán-ji̍p hêng-sêng ê hóe-sêng-gâm hō-chò koàn-ji̍p-gâm. In-ūi kiat-cheng ê sî-kan khah tn̂g phùn-chhut-gâm, só͘-í koàn-ji̍p-gâm lāi-té ê kiat-cheng-thé khah tōa lia̍p.

Hoa-kong-gâm, gabbro, diorite lóng sī chia̍p-chia̍p khòaⁿ-tio̍h ê koàn-ji̍p-gâm.

Koàn-ji̍p-gâm mā ē-sái hō-chò chhim-sêng-gâm (深成岩; Eng. plutonic rock), in-ūi in sī tī-leh tē-khak lāi-té khah chhim ê só͘-chāi sán-seng--ê. Nā-sī tī tē-khak lāi-té khah chhián ê só͘-chāi sán-seng, mā thang hō-chò pòaⁿ-chhim-sêng-gâm (半深成岩; Eng. hypabyssal rock) ia̍h sī pòaⁿ-hóe-soaⁿ-gâm (半火山岩; Eng. subvolcanic rock).
