1. A bag contains 4 red, 5 black and 6 white balls. A ball is drawn from the bag at random.
Find the probability that the ball drawn is (i) white (ii) red (iii) not black (iv) red or white.

2. Two dice are rolled together . Find the probability of (i) even no. on the first and
odd no. on the second (ii) sum of the two numbers as 8.

3. In a non-leap year, find the probability of getting 53 Mondays.


4. On tossing two coins at a time, find :(i) All possible outcomes. (ii) probability of getting
atleast 1 head. (iii) probability of getting atmost 1 head

5. On tossing a coin and a dice simultaneously write the sample space and find the
probability of :
(i) getting head on coin and a prime no. on the dice
(ii) getting head on the coin and a multiple of 3 on the dice
(iii) getting tail on the coin and a no. greater than 3 on the dice.

6. One card is drwn at random from a well shuffled pack of 52cards. Find the probability
of i ) getting a red card ii) getting a face card iii) getting an ace or a black card.

7. 15 cards, numbered 1,2,3,........ 15 are put in a box and mixed thoroughly. A card is
drawn at random from the box. Find the probability that the card drawn bears
(i) an even number
(ii) a number divisible by 2 or 3
8. A pair of dice is thrown once. Find the probability of getting (i) a doublet (ii) an even
no. as product (iii) an square no. as product
9. From a well shuffled pack of 52 cards , one card is drawn at random. Find the probability
that the card drawn is (i) not a king or queen (ii) a numbered card of red colour (ii) an
spade
10. A bag contains 4 red balls , 5 black ball and a certain no. of green balls .one ball is drawn at
random . If the probability of getting a green ball is 1/15 more than that of a black ball, find
the no. of green balls in the bag.
11. From a set of 32 cards numbered as 1 , 2, 3, …… ,32 one card is drawn at random. What is
the probability that the number is a multiple of 5 or 7.
12. A bag contains 5 red balls, 8 white balls, 4 green balls and 7 black balls. A ball is drawn at
random from the bag. Find the probability that it is (i) black (ii) not green.
13. A die is thrown once. Find the probability of getting (i) a number greater than 3 (ii) a number
less than 5.
14. Out of 50 identical items 10 are damaged . If one items is chosen at random. Find the probability
that it will be : (i) a damage one (ii) a good one. Ans: 0.2, 0.8

15. One card is drawn at random from a well shuffled pack of 52 cards. Find the probability of:
(i) a King (ii) a heart, (iii) a seven of heart, (iv) a jack, a King, a Queen
(v) two of heart or diamond, (vi) a black card.
