Automation/Cortez Diagnostic Inc. Immuno Diagnostic Califormia USA). Negative IgM results in a patient sample
suggest absence of CHIKV infection. The level of immune response may be low during the initial acute phase of CHIKV
illness, which could lead to a false-negative test result. To confirm negative IgM test results obtained during the acute
phase, another sample should be collected and tested for antibodies at least 10 to 14 days later. REFERENCE: Pan
