System Integration& Architecture
System Integration& Architecture
System Integration is the process of integrating all the physical and virtual components of an organisation's
system. The physical components consist of the various machine systems, computer hardware, inventory,
etc. The virtual components consists of data stored in databases, software and applications.
What is an example of system integration?
An example of star integration is if a company segments its processes. A separate accounting system
would track finances; a web analytics system manages website traffic, and a customer resource
management (CRM) system would integrate Salesforce. Data from each system could be pulled and
combined as needed.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course shall focus on the process of integrating different systems & software applications by examining
the current & emerging trends, strategies, & techniques for developing systems integration solutions
effectively.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of this course student should be able to
LO1. Analyze appropriateness of a decision to in-source or out-source IT services in a given situation.
Insourcing can help you build long-term resources within your organization. On the other hand, outsourcing
can help you cut costs and finish your projects on a short deadline . However, both these sourcing choices
have their set of limitations. The costs of headhunting and training can make insourcing challenging.
What is insourcing or outsourcing decision?
Outsourcing is the process of hiring an outside organization that is not affiliated with the company to
complete specific tasks. Insourcing, on the other hand, is a business practice performed within the
operational infrastructure of the organization.
LO2. Create a testing environment and design a stress test using appropriate tools & techniques that
impact system performance.
Stress testing is a technique to test a system's performance under extreme conditions. For example, a
website handling a huge number of users at once might be overloaded by mimicking a sudden increase in
traffic. So, it's crucial to run stress tests to evaluate the website's robustness under heavy loads.
What is stress testing used for?
Stress testing is a form of deliberately intense or thorough testing, used to determine the stability of a given
system, critical infrastructure or entity. It involves testing beyond normal operational capacity, often to a
breaking point, in order to observe the results.
