Ring Foundation

This document summarizes the design of a ring foundation based on building code standards. It provides input data such as load assumptions, soil properties, and foundation dimensions. Structural analysis was performed to check overturning stability, combined loads, soil bearing capacity, and determine required section forces. The maximum bending moment, torque, and shear forces calculated will be used to design the reinforced concrete foundation section.

Ring Foundation Design Based on 2018 IBC & ACI 318-19
DESIGN CRITERIA
1. Assume that the ring foundation is rigid with linear distribution of soil reactions.
2. The ring foundation concrete design may be controlled by the maximum bending section, by the maximum shear force section, and/or by the maximum torsion section.
Although the maximum force sections are not con-currently at the same location, this software is conservative to use all maximum forces to design entire sections.
