NARRATIVE REPORT ON ICT TRAINING

(December 5, 6, 12 and 19, 2015)

QUINAWEGAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Information and Communication Technology or ICT has been part of the
teaching-learning process especially now that we are in the 21st century. Teachers
make use of computer-assisted instruction. Microsoft Word is used in making reports,
Microsoft Excel is used in making grades, Microsoft Powerpoint is used in making
presentations of lessons, and Publisher is used in lay outing bulletin boards and displays.
These are just some of the many ways ICT is being used in education.

The training was held in the Computer room of Quinawegan Elementary School
on December 5, 6, 12 and 19, 2015. The participants had a chance to apply the inputs
given to them by the discussants because they were infront of computers of the
laboratory. Some also brought their own laptops.

The first day, December 5, 2015, started with a simple program. The discussant
was Mrs. Romelinda G. Pugal who talked about the Basic Operations of the computer.
She taught the participants about the basic opening and closing of the computer,
finding the programs in the computer, and immediately let teachers hands on with the
computer.

She also educated the participants the basic encoding, inserting tables, pictures,
wordarts, page borders, and the shortcut keys to make things a lot faster and easier
about the Microsoft Word.

Second day, December 6, 2015, she talked about Microsoft Excel. She taught
the participants the basic formulas in computing, necessary in making test results and
analysis.

Third day, December 12, 2015, she discussed about Microsoft Powerpoint. The
participants were taught about making a powerpoint presentation. She taught the
participants of inserting texts and pictures, choosing the design, and adding transitions
and animations.

On the last day of the Training Seminar, December 19, 2015, she was able to
discuss Microsoft Publisher and she taught the participants about lay outing especially
in making display and bulletin board. After which, awarding of certificates to
participants and resource trainer was done.

Nowadays, the teachers in our school applied what they learned in this training.
All of them enjoyed doing their lessons making it easier because of this modern
technology.
