Leah Johnson Bitch Media The real gift of Ted Lasso, both the man and the show, is that he serves as a door into a myriad of other, equally compelling and fully rendered characters. Oct 22, 2021 Full Review Johanna Schneller Globe and Mail Lasso's good-naturedness chipped away at our resistance until finally we gave in, and just let it make us happy. Watching an episode was like rolling around on the floor with a good dog. Dec 21, 2020 Full Review Melanie McFarland Salon.com Honestly, if memorable scenes were gems, Ted Lasso would be an encrusted splendor fit for the Queen. Dec 9, 2020 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy An overall delight, it’s the perfect pick-me-up for the here and now. Rated: 4/4 Aug 10, 2024 Full Review Bill Brioux Brioux.tv Think “The Producers” meets the beautiful game. I was also reminded, slightly, of Alan Partridge, except Lasso is more nice guy than narcissist. Oct 12, 2022 Full Review Adrian Hennigan Haaretz The true genius of Ted Lasso is that you really don't need to like football to love the show. Each episode is 30-ish minutes of pure unadulterated bliss... Sep 16, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Mike P Dark, stylish and hilarious, (and also phenomenally popular), sports comedy about Ted Lasso...He's a goofy redneck from the States; (Jason Sudeikis); who is hired to manage a perennially underperforming British soccer team; and all the hilarity that ensues when that happens...All the culture clash issues; all the crazy antics; in this fishbowl of losers...Trying to compete with each other; prank on eachother, and survive...And part of this is MASH, (the prank-pulling), part of this is WKRP, (the goofy workplace of loveable losers trying to survive), part of this is Bad News Bears, (the hilariously underperforming sports team), part of it is Monty Python and Absolutely Fabulous, (hilarious Brit humor, focusing on scatalogy and drunkeness)...And part of it is classic sports comedy-dramas like "1st and Ten" and "North Dallas Forty"...And overall ...It's a great cast, good writing; and generally good-natured...It's easy to like. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/24/25 Full Review Liam C Highly recommend even if you’re not a soccer/football fan. (ENGLISH) Not all series settle for just entertaining; some achieve something more—they leave you with a lasting warmth. Ted Lasso is one of those rare gems. At a time when many comedies rely on sarcasm and irony, Ted Lasso dares to take a different path: kindness and optimism. And the best part? It does so effortlessly, with a warmth that feels genuine. It’s the kind of story that arrives just when you need it most. Jason Sudeikis brings Ted to life, an American football coach who lands in England to manage a team without knowing a thing about the sport. Everything points to disaster, but his outlook on life and his ability to connect with others end up making all the difference. What starts as a crazy idea turns into a story about empathy, second chances, and the power of human connection—beyond any scoreboard. But the series doesn’t rely solely on its protagonist. Ted Lasso strikes a balance between humor and deeper moments, tackling themes like the pressure of success, fear of failure, and mental health, all while maintaining the warmth that makes it special. Plus, the supporting characters have their own weight and development, adding layers to the story rather than making it entirely dependent on Ted. It’s true that in this third season, some dynamics may feel repetitive, and at times it plays it safe. Even so, its essence remains intact. It doesn’t need shocking twists or complex plots to be engaging—what truly sustains it is the affection you develop for its characters and the connection they establish with the audience. In the end, Ted Lasso is not just a show about football. It’s a reminder that kindness and empathy can make a difference. This season may not have the same impact as the first, but it’s still a story worth watching and sharing.
