Daryl Reccek Jr., a student at the Baum School of Art, received a citation recently from the State House of Representatives for a watercolor he submitted to the 8th Annual Legislative Art Exhibit. Reccek, a junior at Northampton High School, represented the Colonial Northampton Intermediate Unit at the exhibit. His winning watercolor was on display last month in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building, Harrisburg.
The Baum School of Art recentlyrecognized several of its students. The students won scholarships to attend classes at the school, based on portfolios they submitted.
Chris Renaud, a graduating senior at Parkland High School, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship for Visual and Performing Arts. A student at Baum for three years, he plans to study illustration at Syracuse University.
Others, all graduating seniors, include: Donna Parr of Freedom High School, who will study graphics at Pennsylvania State University; Brian Stoudt of Allen High School, who will major in art at Kutztown University; Valarie Shupp of Palmerton High School, who is enrolled in the Commercial Art Program at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, and Beth Tedesco of Allen High School, who will study film at Virginia Commonwealth Union College.
