Following an impressively creepy first teaser, Blumhouse has released a full trailer and a new poster for The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell's upcoming Wolf Man reboot, and it gives us a first glimpse of the movie's other werewolf.
Our first look at what was assumed to be the titular monster via an actor in a costume at Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights was met with a lot of backlash, but the first teaser did suggest that this will be the creature responsible for the initial attack, leaving Christopher Abbott's Blake to change into a different beast altogether.
This new look confirms that the movie will indeed feature another werewolf, and we catch a brief glimpse of the lycanthrope right at the end. From what we can make out, this creature design is... quite similar to the guy in the suit!

Having already delivered a certified banger with The Invisible Man, director Leigh Whannell turns his attention to another classic Universal Monster with his upcoming Wolf Man reboot, and the movie has now received an official rating from the MPA.
Whannell has previously assured fans that this latest take on the furry fiend would mark a return to "real horror," and the movie's rating backs up his promise.
Despite some concern that the movie might be brought in with a PG-13, Wolf Man has been rated “R” for “Bloody violent content, grisly images and some language.”
The first trailer for Wolf Man seemed to go over pretty well for the most part, but the creature design... not so much.

Elisabeth Moss is best known for her breakout role as Peggy Olson in Mad Men. The actress then went on to star in Hulu’s drama series The Handmaid’s Tale, which won her a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. [This story contains spoilers from the first two episodes of Teacup.]
Scott Speedman may have endeared himself to audiences in the late ’90s as heartthrob Ben Covington, the object of Felicity Porter’s (Keri Russell) desires, on the WB college drama series Felicity. But for over two decades, the British-born Canadian actor has carved out a niche for himself in the horror and thriller genres, playing increasingly complicated and tortured men in the Underworld film franchise, The Strangers, David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future and the forthcoming Cellar Door. And in recent years, Speedman, with his buzzy roles in Grey’s Anatomy and You, has reentered the cultural zeitgeist.
Now, Teacup marks Speedman’s latest foray into horror. Adapted from Robert R. I tore through “Teacup” in two days.
The Peacock thriller based on Robert McCammon’s “Stinger” premieres on October 11 and will continue in two-episodes installments, but the wait between them is agonizing. “Teacup” takes place over the course of one harrowing night and day amid a major supernatural threat — the kind of premise and pacing that would’ve made a killer feature along the lines of “Cloverfield” or “Attack the Block.” Ian McCulloch serves as showrunner and executive producer along with McCammon, James Wan, and more.
Alas, “Peacock” debuts in the era of streaming, the era in which a novel’s TV adaptation veers toward audiobook in terms of run time. This is the era of “We’re not making a TV show, we’re making a multi-part movie”, and for a story like “Teacup” that just crushes the momentum.

Plot: Follows a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive. Inspired by the New York Times bestselling novel “Stinger” by Robert McCammon.
Review: The name James Wan attached to a production likely makes you think you are in for something similar to The Conjuring or Insidious. The filmmaker has become synonymous with scary movies as much as he has directed big-budget tentpoles like Aquaman and Furious 7. Still, his prowess as a producer has fostered several cool projects under his Atomic Monster banner in recent years. Peacock’s horror series executive produced by James Wan, “Teacup,” assembles an impressive cast and crew with horror pedigree for a new, modern take on the sci-fi western. One that only loosely pulls from the novel that inspired it, Robert McCammon’s Stinger, without sacrificing the horror or impressive practical effects.

NBC’s thrilling dark procedural returned with an intense hour, and it’s worth a round table discussion!
Sir abducted Lacey, and we spent all of Found Season 2 Episode 1 dealing with the fallout, as Gabi’s relationship with her colleagues and Trent crumbled under the weight of her disturbing secret.
We’re kicking off this new season with a Found Season 2 Episode 1 Round Table featuring editor Carissa Pavlica, Jack Ori, and Sara Trimble as they unpack the premiere!
(Matt Miller/NBC) Sir being on the loose was a risky move, given the series’ established premise. Did this risk pay off?
Carissa: I’ve had the benefit of seeing several episodes of the second season so far, and I still cannot say for sure if it pays off.
It’s a new dynamic, but were we ready for that?
I’m worried that his future is limited with him on the run,...

Jennifer Salke, who is increasing investment in Britain, says some of the ideas floated in the post-Daniel Craig hiatus have been ‘interesting’
If there is anyone who knows what is happening behind the scenes in the saga over who will become the next James Bond, it’s Jennifer Salke, the global head of Amazon MGM Studios – home of box-office crown jewels including the 007 and Rocky franchises.
Salke was part of the Amazon team that sealed an audacious $8.5bn deal in 2021 to buy the 100-year-old MGM and its celebrated library of 4,000 film titles and 17,000 hours of TV programming – ranging from Gone with the Wind and The Hobbit to The Handmaid’s Tale and Legally Blonde.

There’s something really weird going on in the rural Georgia community that’s the setting for Peacock’s new horror series Teacup. The eight-episode series follows a small group of people who find themselves trapped by a mysterious threat.
Loosely based on Robert McCammon’s novel Stinger, Teacup stars Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale), Scott Speedman (You), and Chaske Spencer (Marvel’s Echo) as Ruben Shanley. Strahovski, Speedman, and Spencer took part in Peacock’s first San Diego Comic-Con panel for the show in July 2024. Following the panel, the cast and showrunner Ian McCulloch participated in roundtable interviews to dive deeper into what viewers can expect when Teacup premieres on October 10, 2024.

“Murder in a Small Town” is part romance, part crime procedural and all kinds of small-town cozy in between. Starring Kristin Kreuk (“Smallville”) and Rossif Sutherland (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), the new Fox drama transports viewers to the quiet coastal Canadian town of Gibsons and feels like the TV-ification of the “cozy mystery” trend that’s been so popular in online book communities in recent years.
Indeed, the series is inspired by the Karl Alberg book series by L.R. Wright, following the former big-city officer (Sutherland) to his new small-town home where he takes on the role of police chief in the idyllic town. But the would-be paradise has secrets, mysteries and murders of its own that challenge his skills as an investigator, and all the while, he’s sparking up a new romance with the local librarian, Cassandra Lee (Kreuk).

Dust gets everywhere in director Karrie Crouse and Will Joines’ hard-scrabble horror. It fills the skies, covers the furniture, and chokes the characters’ lungs. Often it clouds their judgement, too. Anyone sensing a metaphor swirling here won’t be disappointed. But those hoping for a satisfying pay-off may well be.
Based on a long-gestating script by Crouse, who also worked on TV’s similarly sand-blasted Westworld, Hold Your Breath can’t be faulted for its ambition. For their feature debut, Crouse and Joines create a convincingly brutal world that their (largely female) characters must endure.
Having worked so hard to convince us of the reality of the characters’ plight, falling back on the usual crazy-woman stereotypes isn’t just disappointing, it’s disastrous.
Sarah Paulson is typically committed as Margaret, a woman on the edge. Her husband is working away, she’s lost a child to scarlet fever, and there...

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney has gained massive success ever since the HBO series premiered. The actress had been consistent in the industry, working for a decade and a half before landing her most popular role as Cassie.
Ever since then, the actress appeared in multiple projects and has successfully established her name in Hollywood. However, even after achieving the success most people her age could only dream of, Sweeney did not feel secure. The Anyone but You lead came from a financially challenged background which made her hyper-aware of the instability of her current status.
The long road to success: Sydney Sweeney’s toil
Sydney Sweeney has been in the entertainment industry for much longer than her fans know. She has small roles in hit shows like Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy, and later in Pretty Little Liars. The actress also landed a main role in Everything Sucks! (2018).

FX titles on Hulu produce outsized demand, and they’re helping to boost engagement with other Hulu titles.
It’s plain to see that shows like “The Bear” and “Shōgun” are driving huge audiences for Hulu. The two shows have received wide acclaim from both critics and audiences, but until now there were few ways to quantify how popular they and other FX titles have been for the streamer. Thanks to new data from Parrot Analytics, however, it’s more clear than ever just how important exclusive FX titles on Hulu are to the streamer.
Key Details: Titles sourced from FX make up 3% to 4% of Hulu’s library, but drive 6% to 7% of demand. Total demand for exclusive Hulu content hit an all time high in the second quarter of 2024. The churn rate for Hulu has fallen below 3.5%. 30-Day Free Trial $7.99+ / month hulu.com

In a consolidation move six years in the making, ABC Signature is no more. The production unit is being shut down, with its operations folded into 20th Television under 20th TV President Karey Burke.
Additionally, the ABC and Hulu Originals scripted drama and comedy teams are being combined under ABC/Freeform EVP Simran Sethi who has been elevated to President, Scripted Programming, Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment.
Leaving their positions as part of the restructuring are Tracy Underwood, who is stepping down as President of ABC Signature and segueing to an overall producing deal with Disney Television Studios, and SVP Erin Wehrenberg, ABC’s Head Of Comedy.
The combining of the studios as well as ABC and Hulu’s scripted teams is impacting about 30 Disney Entertainment Television employees, I hear. The majority of them are on the studio side, split relatively evenly between ABC Signature and 20th TV as a...

NBC’s new medical procedural arrives with an unusual slant. Inspired by the life of late British neurologist and author Dr. Oliver Sacks, “Brilliant Minds” stars “Star Trek” and “American Horror Story’s” Zachary Quinto as a doctor determined to demystify neurological disorders. And he’s got first-hand experience: Quinto’s Dr. Oliver Wolf has prosopagnosia, also known as “face blindness” (just as Sacks did in real life.)
The hour-long series “follows a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.”
Alongside Quinto, “Brilliant Minds” also stars Tamberla Perry Ashleigh Lathrop (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Alex MacNicoll (“The Society”), Aury Krebs (“Leverage: Redemption”), Spence Moore II (“All American”), Teddy Sears (“The Flash”) and Donna Murphy (“Tangled”). “Homeland” and “Criminal Minds” star Mandy Patinkin is also on board in a recurring role.

It's bizarre to even consider, but at one point, Oscar-winner Marisa Tomei auditioned to play Penny on "The Big Bang Theory" — and while it's hard to imagine her in Kaley Cuoco's role, it's also funny to imagine an alternate universe with Tomei as the show's bubbly female lead.
Fans of "The Big Bang Theory" know there was a decent amount of strife over who would play Penny — one actress, Katie Walsh, was replaced after a badly-shot pilot didn't impress CBS — but it's definitely shocking to hear that Tomei was in the mix. In 2022, Tomei opened up about "The Big Bang Theory" and said that she did like the project, and obviously had no idea that it would be such a huge pop culture phenomenon.
"I thought it was a great script, and that's why we went so far as to check it out," Tomei told Business Insider in an...

A “hopeful future.” How delightfully mythical that sounds in the face of the world’s many tragedies over the last thousand years — a sparkly daydream within a singular moment, gone as quickly as it arrived.
Sure, that sounds pretty bleak. But it’s not as if this realistic cynicism is without warrant. Once upon a time, Hollywood was capable of producing hopeful, positive, and generally upbeat entertainment.
Of course, the protagonist faced many struggles, but there was always an underlying sense that everything would turn out just fine in the end.
(Prime Video (Screenshot))
It’s not difficult to understand the elemental sense of doom and cessation that pervades most of our entertainment nowadays. People crave it; the more angry they are, the more they’ll demand doom and gloom, with blood galore.

A new Robocop series is looking more and more like a reality for Amazon Prime Video. The streamer just nabbed two key producers for the developing serialized spin on the sci-fi action franchise.
The perennially busy James Wan (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom) and his Atomic Monster shingle will executive produce alongside Michael Clear and Rob Hackett. Fellow executive producer Peter Ocko (Lodge 49, The Office) has also boarded the project and will serve as writer and showrunner. The series will be produced in-house by Amazon MGM Studios.
A look at the logline reveals that a TV-ified Robocop won’t deviate too far from the source material. “A giant tech conglomerate collaborates with the local police department to introduce a technologically advanced enforcer to combat rising crime, a police officer who’s part man, part machine,” it reads.

Following the recent trailer, Empire Magazine has shared a new official image from the upcoming Wolf Man reboot, and it finds Christopher Abbott's protagonist, Blake, beginning his Lycanthropic transformation.
Our first look at the titular werewolf via an actor in a costume at Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights was met with a lot of backlash, but the trailer did suggest that this will be the monster responsible for the initial attack, leaving Blake to change into a different beast altogether.
Director Leigh Whannell tells the mag that this movie represents his return to "pure horror" after working on Upgrade and The Invisible Man.
“Upgrade was more sci-fi action. I was watching a lot of domestic thrillers when I wrote The Invisible Man, because I love that genre. [Wolf Man] is me saying, ‘I just wanted to make something that is straight-up, pure horror.’”

Director Leigh Whannell (The Invisible Man) returns to the world of the Universal Monsters with next year’s Wolf Man, and Empire has shared a brand new image this week.
Additionally, the outlet sat down for a chat with Whannell that has been published in part this morning. Whannell promises that his Wolf Man is a straight up horror movie, for starters. He also teases that the new movie aims to bring something fresh to the werewolf sub-genre.
Whannell explains, “Upgrade was more sci-fi action. I was watching a lot of domestic thrillers when I wrote The Invisible Man, because I love that genre. [Wolf Man] is me saying, ‘I just wanted to make something that is straight-up, pure horror.’”
“I think of it as a companion piece to The Invisible Man,” he continues. “I didn’t want this film to be a nostalgic or a retro Wolf Man film in any way.

A disparate group of people in rural Georgia must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive in upcoming Peacock horror series “Teacup,” executive produced by James Wan and inspired by Robert McCammon‘s Stinger. Watch the new trailer now.
James Wan said in a new statement, “After reading Robert McCammon’s book Stinger, the entire team at Atomic Monster felt a spark. The story had all the ingredients for a captivating series and [showrunner] Ian McCulloch had a vision to bring it to life in a fresh way that was both startling and darkly atmospheric, but filled with a rich sense of humanity — often lacking in edgy narratives. Add in our incredibly talented cast led by Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman and Chaske Spencer and fans are in for a true edge-of-your-seat experience.”

Peacock is set to premiere a new horror series called “Teacup” on October 10th. The show was developed by acclaimed horror producer James Wan and is based loosely on the bestselling novel “Stinger” by Robert McCammon. “Teacup” tells the story of a rural family who faces a mysterious threat in their small Georgia community.
Ian McCulloch serves as the showrunner and has adapted the novel for television. While the original story was set in Texas, McCulloch moved the setting to the backwoods of Georgia. The ensemble cast includes established actors like Yvonne Strahovski of “The Handmaid’s Tale” fame alongside Scott Speedman, Chaske Spencer, and Rob Morgan. McCulloch describes “Teacup” as blending different genres like thriller, horror, family drama and science fiction into a single “keyhole” story focused on one family.

Science fiction is a genre that thrives on mankind's ability to imagine the future. Sci-fi films take us to galaxies far, far away, or they guide us down the rabbit hole into a computer program. We can visit forbidden planets or envision technologies that transform our own world, exploring space, or learning all too late that in space, no one can hear us scream. Ray Bradbury, author of "The Martian Chronicles," put it this way: "Science fiction is the most important literature in the history of the world, because it's the history of ideas, the history of our civilization birthing itself."
By revisiting the films on this list, however, we can imagine a different sort of future: someone's future acting career. The sci-fi genre has provided a jumping-off point for countless stars who went on to make their mark elsewhere, including future Oscar winners, future comedians, future talk show hosts,...
