To establish the relationships among Geukensia demissa occurrence, elevation, and
salinity, transect grid surveys were performed within the salt marsh habitat at eight stations along a
salinity gradient in the Ashley River in Charleston, SC (Fig.
A survey of a nearly 100-km stretch of the Sundarbans delta in India adjoining Bangladesh, has confirmed the presence of the dolphin populations only in the westernmost segment, in the lower reaches of the river Hooghly, where the
salinity is lower than that of natural seawater.
Ionic toxicity is one of the major adverse effects caused by
salinity on plants (Munns and Tester, 2008; Ashraf and Foolad, 2013).
One group was native to a large estuary--a body of seawater near the mouth of a river--that was routinely exposed to freshwater flooding from extreme precipitation, which decreased the
salinity of the oysters' surroundings.
Increased
salinity adversely impacts crop production and income, driving those who rely on it for their livelihood to migrate from coastal to inland areas.
For acclimatization of the organisms, the
salinity was increased by two units for each week of cultivation, until the desired final concentration reached.
He pointed to the inability of the local government of Basra to implement the demands of the people of the district and find solutions to the problem of
salinity of water, in front of the silence of the Government of the Center occupied by the formation of a new government, and the disbursement of funds allocated to solve the problems plaguing the province and Faw district so far, as well as the lack of commitment of the Ministry of Water Resources to meet promising to increase the water flows to Basra to contribute to solving some of the problems./ End
Salt concentration (
salinity) is considered as the most important environmental factor which affects the growth performance of numerous fish species cultured in seawater ponds and cages (Cruz et al., 1990; Watanabe et al., 1990; Naylor et al., 2000; Cressey, 2009; Ferreira et al., 2009; Martins et al., 2010; FAO, 2014; Cao et al., 2015).
IBM SPSS statistical software was used to calculate a series of two-way ANOVA tests to determine if there was a relationship between temperature and
salinity and germination success in each of the three species.

Lentil is very important legume crop and affected by
salinity stress.
A critical aspect of the uniqueness of coastal drought is the effects on the
salinity dynamics of creeks, rivers, and estuaries.
In the literature, there are few studies on the response of basil to
salinity (Fatemi & Aboutalebi, 2012; Heidari, 2012; Bione et al., 2014), reporting that, under salt stress, basil plants suffer reduction in all evaluated growth variables.
Field experiments was carried out in Al-Kahlediyah (Marfaq), Jordan to evaluate four promising triticale accession and to investigate the potentiality of these accession in respect to different level of
salinity. Three accessions of triticale (PI-429166, PI-429152, PI-429101) and the locally cultivated cultivar (Syria-1) were grown under three treatments moderate (15.6 dS [m.sup.-1]) and high (30.1 dS [m.sup.-1]) soil
salinity planted in winter (15 December) in 2014 and 2015, respectively, and high soil
salinity (33.5 dS [m.sup.-1]) planted in spring (late sowing in spring (15 February) in 2017.
