Overview
Global warming has finally melted all of the polar ice caps, and now the entire surface of the earth is covered by water. The survivors roam the seas, doing whatever they can to survive in a world that has no law and order. The Mariner is one of the toughest men left in this ocean world. He is a solitary man who wants nothing to do with anyone else. The Mariner is a mutant who can breathe underwater, and he is sentenced to death in a town that fears mutants. He escapes with a woman and her daughter, who think he can take them to the mythical Dryland. The Mariner is pursued by the evil band of renegades called the Smokers. They are searching for the girl because she has a map to Dryland on her back. The Mariner must escape them and find the way to Dryland.
