Parks
Dover residents and visitors can enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and the wonder of nature at its many community parks and facilities. With 27 parks, the City of Dover is dedicated to the leisure interests of its residents. Within the Parks and Recreation Department, we oversee 27 small to medium sized parks and three larger parks that compliment the City of Dover.
Silver Lake Park offers its visitors a range of recreational fun and activity covering 182 acres. The paved walking/jogging path within the park gives visitors a scenic view of the park. Fisherman find Silver Lake to be quite the place for bass, catfish, carp, perch, and many more local species. Licensed boaters are often seeing fishing or pulling water skiers across the lake.
Countless children and families enjoy the playground which includes equipment for ages 3 -12. With benches and pavilions close by, this is a popular park for family outings and get-togethers, 5k Races and just relaxing. Open for your enjoyment from dawn to dusk all year long.

Dover Park offers the only public tennis courts in town! These three tennis courts are complimented by a softball field, multipurpose field, two basketball courts, disc golf course, and much more! Two pavilions for those hot sunny days offer visitors a place for picnicking and family get-togethers.
