The Editing Team could enable Edit Check as early as this upcoming Tuesday, 27 August 2024.

Hello @ppelberg, I think the sooner the better :-) We've already decided to have this tool enabled and I don't see any reason to postpone it. Next Tuesday sounds good.

Hi! What's the status of this? I know this is not urgent and a few days of change will not ruin anything, but I wanted it not to become buried for eternity.

If the change is only about setting wgVisualEditorEditCheck to true, I can take care of it and of having it deployed in the next backport window.

Due to some people being out of office, this got delayed. As a result, I think this will now need to happen this upcoming Tuesday, 3 Sep.

However, we'd welcome you writing a patch provided someone on the Editing Engineering team can review it before you move forward with backporting.

And while I can't speak to the specific change(s) within the code needed to enable the Reference Check at pl.wiki, perhaps this patch might offer some clues...

And hey, I'm glad you followed up about this, @Msz2001. In the future, we will proactively communicate about schedule changes...I'd like to avoid you (or anyone else!) left wondering, "Wasn't this thing supposed to happen today?"
