A barnstar for you!

The Admin's Barnstar
For taking care of the disruptive editing here. Cheers! JeffSpaceman (talk) 22:59, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JeffSpaceman Thank you! -Ad Orientem (talk) 23:03, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ad. The number of IPs keep trolling to Talk:The Judgment Day and Talk:Dominik Mysterio. Would you block the IP range? AmritR012 (talk) 06:12, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@AmritR012 blocked the /64 x 1 week. You caught me just as I was going to bed. If any other issues pop up in the next 8 hours, report to ANI or AIV. Have a good night. -Ad Orientem (talk) 06:22, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

possible revdel request

[edit]

Hello, while not certain, I do believe (after a bit of digging on the meaning of the word added to the page) that https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Max_Schachmann&diff=prev&oldid=1244833981 is probably worthy of a revdel. Gaismagorm (talk) 13:41, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Gaismagorm Done. I've also bumped the warning on the IP's talk page to a level III. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. -Ad Orientem (talk) 15:23, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
no problem! Gaismagorm (talk) 15:30, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Coldplay

[edit]

Hey there – hope you're doing well. Just reaching out regarding the activity at Coldplay – unfortunately another edit war broke out within an hour of your full protection expiring, and there's still been no attempt at resolution via the talk page by any of the involved editors, despite a couple of us trying to open up discussions; I tried to get the article protected again in the hope that it would force GustavoCza in particular to discuss, but it was declined. I know it's been quiet for a few hours, but given the lack of any participation, figured I'd just bring it to your attention as the protecting admin in case you wanted to get involved again rather than (for example) go through ANI within 36 hours of the last thread closing; thanks. 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 12:34, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@4TheWynne There is a note on the talk page to which I have added my concurrence. They seem to have stopped for the moment. -Ad Orientem (talk) 15:44, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Creation

[edit]

@Ad Orientem: My bad in not clearly providing a rationale for the recreation here and for Koi... Mil Gaya 3. Let me elaborate, while these rds were deleted per Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2024 August 24#Koi Mil Gaya 3 that was mostly due to non-participation by anyone primarily due to the fact that the RfD discussion for very similar rds was incorrectly nominated and split into three. The major discussions happened at the relisted Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2024 August 31#Krish 1 and Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2024 August 31#Koi Mil Gaya 2 both of which consider the same numbered rds for this very film series and both of which passed; and also involved a discussion of these (Koi... Mil Gaya 3 and Koi Mil Gaya 3) redirects, I would have commented there and linked to those discussions further but was unaware of their separate listing. To not have series rds only for this film from the series would appear unfair in light of those discussions. Please look into those discussion and see if these rds can be redirect (I think they should), thanks. Gotitbro (talk) 11:50, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Gotitbro I am not going to take sides in this dispute. The bottom-line is that these redirects were deleted following a proper discussion and you are basically recreating them because you disagree with the decision. I suggest you open a discussion at WP:DRV. You may have a legitimate argument here. But that will need ratification via some form of community discussion to override the RfD. I am going to move this discussion to my talk page and delete this talk page which I evidently missed last night. -Ad Orientem (talk) 15:30, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

216.209.197.108, now 207.236.13.191

[edit]

Hi! On 31 August I mentioned to you the disruptive behavior of 216.209.197.108 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), and you blocked them for 2 weeks the same day. They have now reappeared on a new IP, 207.236.13.191 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). This is clearly the same editor, making the same strange name changes in the same Judaism-related articles ("Judah" to "Judaea" and "Jehudah", "Israelite" to "Israeli" and "Palestinian", etc.) and edit-warring their changes when reverted. As with the previous IP, they have never replied to a talk page message. I wonder if you could take a look at this? Thanks! CodeTalker (talk) 16:21, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@CodeTalker Blocked x 1 month. I've also protected a couple of the pages that look like they are magnets for weird disruptive editing. -Ad Orientem (talk) 17:01, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much! CodeTalker (talk) 17:05, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Moved your CTOP AP log at WP:AEL re: Mark Robinson

[edit]

Hi there. When reviewing WP:AEL, I saw Mark Robinson was listed twice after you expanded protection to ECP. To keep it all together, I moved your comment to be with the prior protection. Just letting you know, as I'd imagine editting logs is normally disfavored. Thanks for your understanding. --Policy Reformer(c) 02:56, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@PolicyReformer No worries. There are number of ways that could be handled and this works. -Ad Orientem (talk) 04:15, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
