I thought I was blocked until June 2023
[edit]@Daniel Case I was under the impression I was blocked until June of 2023 for an unfortuante incident that occured with user:generalrelative. At the time I refused to apologize, but then I agreed to apologize and not do it again. I was told blocks are meant to be preventing instead of punishment. Like a correctional institute (which I have real life experience with, specifically Sandstone in Minnesota) vs a penitentiary (which i personally do not although my older brother has - he is finishing a dime in 2025 at Statesville.) I was disappointed to see my block was extended for "block evasion". I didn't evasion any block. I couldn't do anything when I was blocked. Can you perhaps help me? I have apologized to generalrelative and I will do so again. I'm sorry for what I said it was wrong. 2600:1012:B00F:892F:84D7:7D01:8B6B:F41C (talk) 00:33, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- By the way I know it's not cool to tell people where you've done time, but I am telling you because the other moderator told me that it doesn't matter if you are an ex con, Wikipedia is not allowed to ban you for that reason unless it is a strikeable offense. None of my felonies were strikes and I only have two anyway.
- I’m at Wikimania in Singapore at the moment, away from my desk as it were, so I’m somewhat limited in what I can do as an admin. But I can tell you that since this a range, you may not have been the one responsible for block being extended, although unfortunately for the same reason we can’t lift the block.
