Hi there! My name is Matthew, and I'm a 24-year-old filmmaker, writer, video editor, media archivist, horror movie enthusiast, and cinephile based in Florida. I've been involved in a number of short films in different capacities, from editor to actor (you can check out my IMDb page here). I've received awards for acting and editing, occasionally do work as a video editor, and work regularly as both a grocery store clerk and registered pharmacy technician. I've seen over 1,000 movies and counting, and I also collect movies on Blu-ray, 4K UHD, DVD, VHS, and digitally, as well as books, music, and more. I'm a member of WikiProject Film.

One thing I've grown to enjoy doing is adding sections on themes and interpretations to articles about films—distinct from "Critical reception" in that the focus is more on analyses, often from academic sources, of a film's central or underlying thematic elements. Some examples of films for which I've done this include Nosferatu, Häxan (both 1922), The Wolf Man (1941), I Walked with a Zombie (1943), Sleepaway Camp (1983), Brain Damage (1988), Nightbreed, Joe Versus the Volcano (both 1990), The People Under the Stairs (1991), 3-Iron (2004), Drag Me to Hell, Saw VI (both 2009), and Nope (2022).
