  • The article is both new and long enough at 7823 characters. The article is neutral and has the correct inline citations. The QPQ is done. I much prefer ALT1 as it is interesting to me, and it cited and in the article. Earwig does not alert to copyright violations. Bruxton (talk) 03:29, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Agree ALT1 is better and am striking the other one so there is no confusion. Cielquiparle (talk) 03:39, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Cielquiparle: Oops my mistake- I mistakenly identified the the wrong ALT - I actually checked out and liked ALT0. I just confirmed the other, and unstruck ALT0 so a prep builder can choose either. Both are interesting and in the article cited. Bruxton (talk) 15:09, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Cielquiparle: please see my GA review below. Overall, this is a well-written article with just a few things to fix before GA. Please let me know if you have any issues with my suggestions below. Thank you! Kimikel (talk) 21:44, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the thoughtful and detailed review @Kimikel. I believe I've now addressed all your points below. The main challenge was the final section (as it seems the family deliberately withheld publishing further information about his children, for example), but I added a couple of facts from other articles and also changed the section heading. Cielquiparle (talk) 02:21, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Cielquiparle: Firstly, thank you very much for your quick work on this. The bottom section now looks far better than before, great work. The one thing left is that my comments under the "Verifiable" section still apply to the article currently. Once that gets addressed, I can pass this article. Thank you. Kimikel (talk) 02:55, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Kimikel I believe I've addressed those concerns now. Cielquiparle (talk) 03:38, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Cielquiparle just went through and did a quick copyedit. The article is good to go. Thank you very much for the prompt responses, and congratulations! Kimikel (talk) 12:30, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Curly Neal and Jerry "Lovebug" Venable and former" > Curly Neal, Jerry "Lovebug" Venable, and former
  • "1985–1986 starting lineup were unable to agree on a new contract with Harlem Globetrotter management" > 1985–1986 Harlem Globetrotters starting lineup were unable to agree on a new contract with management

Personal life and death

  • This section is a little anemic, perhaps consider adding some of the things people said about him after his death in this source [1]

Verifiable

[edit]
  • His birthdate and birthplace are never sourced in the body of the article
  • Many of the newspapers in the references can be wikilinked but aren't (ie Akron Beacon, El Paso Herald-Post, etc.)
