Shuffle play is a mode of playback commonly found on digital audio players. This feature is usually found on mid-end to high-end digital audio players; along with most portable media players. Lower-end digital audio players don't generate playlists with true randomness as it may make use of a pseudorandom number generator rather than hardware random number generators.

Randomization issues

Since some lower-end models of digital audio player have lacked a true random number generator; it causes some tracks to repeat at a more frequent rate than others. Some radio listeners with lower income have been discouraged from using lower-end MP3 players as they lack the aforementioned number generator for shuffle play.
