A barkada (Hyphenation: bar‧ka‧da;IPA: /baɾˈkada/, [bɐɾˈka.dɐ]) (English: group of friends; gang of friends) is a Filipino word that refers to a group of friends. In an expanded sense, it can refer to a group or crowd of people traveling or passengers, such as those on board on a ship. There are good barkada and there are also bad barkada. Just like barkada, a gang has a bad influence, they are a group or group of friends who are involved in activities that is against the society.[1][2]
