Thanks - Charlie Sheen page
editThanks for reverting the Vandalism on the Charlie Sheen page and for correcting the film data. Your contributions are appreciated.--CreativeSoul7981 (talk) 02:17, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
- No worries. Glad to help! Cheers! --averagejoe (talk) 02:34, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
- There was no 'vandalism' on the charlie sheen page. his criminal record needs to be mentioned, but wikipedia won't allow it. why is that???????? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thedude392 (talk • contribs) 04:42, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, there was. Learn how to edit an encyclopaedia, or go back to trolling the blogosphere. --averagejoe (talk) 05:21, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
I've undone your edits to the Westboro page. Before you revert me again, let's discuss on the talk page first. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 22:57, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- I've replaced the material, rewording to address some of your concerns. Before you revert me again, please see the talk page as well. Cheers! --averagejoe (talk) 23:28, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
Think Progress
editIt is inappropriate to be using links from Think Progress in any article not involving Think Progress itself. Imagine if people started using Drudge or Alex Jones as references on articles. Try and find unbiased resources when adding information to articles. And this is coming from a liberal. ~BLM (talk) 16:15, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not really that committed to the info either way. I didn't put it in in the first place. Cheers! --averagejoe (talk) 18:18, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Wikistalking
editPlease express any concerns you have concerning the Bob Krause article to the talk page and stop wikistalking me elsewhere. You are past 3 RR on the Bob Krause article and you have not indicated any problems with the edits you are reverting. 173.111.24.52 (talk) 23:46, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, Charlie, not wikistalking. You're not the only person who has an interest in this race. However, this seems to be the only topic you have any history of editing. You may want to consider signing up for an account so you don't look so much like a sockpuppet. Cheers! --averagejoe (talk) 00:44, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

- Next time, please do comment your edits. Have a nice day. --averagejoe (talk) 00:21, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- So you don't deny that didn't look at the edit itself and just assumed that an IP editor was the vandal. Duly noted. You also have a nice day. 2001:558:6045:A0:391F:B005:179D:8DD9 (talk) 02:51, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- Didn't say I did, either. Didn't even say anything about vandalism. Your note is incorrect, so don't go with that answer on the test. What I did say was that there is a box below called "Edit summary". That's where you "(Briefly describe the changes you have made)". Now you have been schooled. Don't take any wooden nickels. --averagejoe (talk) 04:57, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi there JRStutler! I've noticed you have yourself listed as a member of the Food and Drink Wikiproject. Unfortunately it looks like the project has been slowly sliding into inactivity except for a couple of people. That makes me a sad potato, and nobody likes a sad potato amirite?
If you'd like to turn my frown upside down, can you do two small things?
First off, go here and add {{Tick}} ( ) next to your name if you're still part of the project.
Second, go to the project talkpage and participate in a discussion about how to make the project more active, and how to go about making articles in our area of interest a lot better.
You don't want to make me cry, do you? Potatoes have a lot of eyes you know. So come on, join in! :)

After forgetting about this for a few days, I've decided that before I go straight to WP:3O, you should explain why you think the article doesn't feel like an advertisement, particularly the quotes I mentioned and the Attractions section. –Ugncreative Usergname (talk) 22:36, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

ULC Authority to Solemnize Marriages
editI know you want to include a statement about ULC-performed marriages being recognized in Iowa, but we really don't have a reliable source for that, or even know if it's the case. The statutory language, "ordained or designated as a leader of the person's religious faith," is just too vague; only a court could decide if that includes the ULC, and none has. No doubt it is the case that court clerks allow ULC miniters to officiate, but that happens in New York too, and every ULC-performed marriage in New York State is in question. John M Baker (talk) 19:13, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
- Until a court rules that the marriages are not recognized, they are indeed valid. --averagejoe (talk) 22:05, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
Redirect blankings
editHello. I see that you've blanked the redirects Droid Maxx Ultra and Droid Maxx & Ultra, apparently intending to remove the redirects. Please be noted that blanking a page is not tantamount to a deletion. I have reverted your blanking for now. If you wish to delete the redirects, please take it to WP:RFD. If you have a question or comment, please leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. KJ Discuss? 02:01, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
Your contributed article, Droid Maxx
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Droid Maxx. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Droid Maxx/Ultra. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Droid Maxx/Ultra – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Dusti*Let's talk!* 06:42, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
Saturday Night Live (season 1)
editSorry I didn't indicate this in the edit summary, but when I reverted your edit to Saturday Night Live (season 1), I reverted it because all the other season articles refer to the Weekend Update anchor in bold, not *. Thanks! StewdioMACK Talk page 03:16, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks. I noticed that after I made the change. Was editing from a mobile, and didn't take the time to check the rest. I think bold isn't really the way to go with that, as Weekend Update is but one of many sketches on the show...perhaps an asterisk fits better, but I'm not going to go through all of them at this point to make the change. Cheers! --averagejoe (talk) 05:23, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for February 28
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cheryl Tiegs, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ashley Graham. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Disambiguation link notification for May 19
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tomorrow's World, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George Davison (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The file File:World countries by Standard & Poor's ratings 20110805.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Orphaned image, no source for the map, use File:Countries by Standard & Poor's Foreign Rating.png instead.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --TheImaCow (talk) 19:53, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Bob Krause photo portrait.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Bob Krause photo portrait.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —twotwofourtysix(My talk page and contributions) 23:09, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
