Sorry to bother you, but I noticed a mistake in this image - the top right number should be 4, not 2. I would correct this myself but I'm not familiar with svg files and so don't know how to edit it. Thanks. Sorry to bother you again, but new file still has a 2 in the top right corner, when it should be a 4.

POTD/MOTD, mk.wiki, 2009

Macedonian translations needed

[edit]

Hi! I contact you as you speak English and Macedonian.

Jastrow and I are working on autotranslating {{Meta information museum}}, the meta-template we use for many museums, like {{Information Louvre}}. Could you please help us find Macedonian translations for every tag name:

   * artist/maker
   * description
   * dimensions
   * credit line
   * accession number
   * location
   * source/photographer
   * references
   * other versions

"Credit line" is mainly about the mode of acquisition: what collection does it come from? Did it join the collections by gift, purchase, on loan, etc.?

Thanks for any help. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 10:28, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

--Brest (talk) 07:47, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

--B. Jankuloski (talk) 14:30, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Поздрав, --Brest (talk) 20:08, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No idea what this is about, but I see that it transcludes {{Language/mk}}, so just a note to say that I deleted the template, because it has been added to MediaWiki through the CLDR extension. You can still use <nowki>xx</nowiki> to get the same result. --Zolo (talk) 11:07, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Bjankuloski06en!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

For diligent translation work. Hekerui (talk) 15:03, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I notice that you are adding a lot of links to non-existing articles in Macedonian wikipedia to the templates like this one. A lot of city, institution or creator templates have links to articles in user language wikipedias, see Help:Creating multilingual tags with interwiki links for more info. All those templates are created semi-automatically by reformatting interwiki links. I noticed you adding manually links to those templates but they mostly point to non-existing articles. I am afraid that updates to the templates which will be likely done based on interwiki links will loose your changes in the future unless your articles are created and links to them are added to interwiki links on other wikipedias. In case you are not planning on creating all those articles I would suggest keeping your translations separate from the rest so it is easier to notice them. For example instead of

<code>
 |mk=[[:mk:Харлем|Харлем]]
 |ms=[[:ms:Haarlem|Haarlem]]
 |default=[[Haarlem]]
}}
</code>

You could use:

<code>
 |ms=[[:ms:Haarlem|Haarlem]]
 |mk=[[Haarlem|Харлем]] <!-- Manually added -->
 |default=[[Haarlem]]
}}
</code>

that would provide Macedonian translation and link for future investigation. If there is no default option or gallery page you could provide link to some other wikipedia in a language Macedonian people are likely to know. --Jarekt (talk) 13:20, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

template:technique

[edit]

Hello, we are currently working on making template:technique a bit clearer. I would like to make sure that the Macedonian version is correct. As I understand it Macedonian as declensions, with adjectives agreeing in case, number and gender with the noun. Is that so ? And could you translate "green oil on blue canvas mounted on black panel" into Macedonian indicating the case of each word ? As I understand it "on" is translated by the invariable "на" while "поставен" agrees in gender and number with "panel" (or is it with canvas?).--Zolo (talk) 06:46, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think it was quite clear, thanks (I thought there were declensions because when I typed macedonian declensions on Google I found Wiktionary templates). Is there a difference between "поставен на" and "поставен врз" used in the current template ? If I got it right "blue gouache on black canvas mounted on green panel" should give Another question: are adjectives perfectly regular in following the a/o/и pattern ?--Zolo (talk) 14:14, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
"Grûnd foo" is just to make sure unrecognized inputs do not drive the template crazy. Do all masculine adjectives end with a consonant ?--Zolo (talk) 06:21, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for translating - Template:Uwlsubst/mk!

[edit]

Hallo Bjankuloski06en, thank you for translating - Template:Uwlsubst/mk! :-) You forgot to create Template:Uwlsubst/mk/HDpreload - you can use Template:Uwlsubst/en/HDpreload as a example/pattern. Or just use the English version by linking to it in Template:Uwlsubst/mk (instead of Uwlsubst/mk/HDpreload). Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 14:03, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for the template. We did need this. Now I also translated the other one, so it should be complete. Wikimedia Macedonia is co-operating with the government to digitalize many Macedonian books and illustrations of national and international importance (as a major way of promoting the country's culture and history), and they should all go here in due time (image files and, I assume, DjVu-s) so I guess we should have these things prepared when people try to add desrciptions of the uploaded items, as many will be unfamiliar with the system here. Thanks again! --B. Jankuloski (talk) 01:41, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again, thanks for your feedback and appreciation! :-) Yes, the translation is complete now. I was lazy and did not do a German version of HDpreload... Since there are many other translations with a HDpreload translation I did so now, too. Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 02:13, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo Bjankuloski06en, you contributed to MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer-anon/mk. I just wanted to tell you that the English version contains more correct links (some are outdated in the mk version). Either you update the mk version or just delete the page - then all mk users see the english version. I guess the links are not that hard to understand anyway. Or we integrate the link title translation in the new link template. As you like. Probably the latter would be the best. Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 01:53, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:Seal of the President of Macedonia.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Hi, I noticed this edit which seems to be pointing to an article on MK Wikipedia that does not exist. The purpose of a link is to allow users to learn more on a subject and diverting them from articles on other wikis to non existing articles seems like a cruel joke. If you want to add MK translation of a name you can still do it, but the link should point somewhere with more info about the person. --Jarekt (talk) 11:40, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you are going to write an article than I do not have a problem with it. I just do not like dead interwiki links. --Jarekt (talk) 11:54, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article requests

[edit]

Do you do article requests on the Macedonian Wikipedia? If so, would you be interested in writing a short stub on the en:Peel District School Board in Macedonian? It is a school system that has a lot of Macedonian immigrants. If you need help finding the correct Macedonian terms to use in the article, the district has a Macedonian website at http://languages.peelschools.org/Macedonian/home/, so it can be used as a source to write the article Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 15:31, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of the Year voting round 1 open

[edit]

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

  1. Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
  2. This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
  3. Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. In the final round, when a limited number of images are left, you must decide on the one image that you want to become the Picture of the Year.

To see the candidate images just go to the POTY 2012 page on Wikimedia Commons

Wikimedia Commons celebrates our featured images of 2012 with this contest. Your votes decide the Picture of the Year, so remember to vote in the first round by January 30, 2013.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

Request for Macedonian for Template:Closed captions

[edit]

Hi, Bjankuloski06en! Are you interested in making Template:Closed captions fully available in Macedonian? It does not yet have a Macedonian translation. Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 18:30, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the response! What I should have made clear was that it was the template itself and not the "example" of a subtitle file that needed translating. Sorry about that! The purpose is so people can read the template in Slovene. The pieces of Template:Closed_captions:

  • "Available closed captioning files."
  • "To view the subtitles along with the video (an example; there are other ways):

download this video file (right click → save target as) download a subtitle file (.srt file format) from below (right click → save target as) to the same folder and name it Closed captions.srt view the video with VLC media player (subtitles will be usually be automatically shown)"

  • "full list"
  • "Create new translation or edit existing"
  • "Replace en part with your language code and press Go button"

Thank you WhisperToMe (talk) 13:46, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for adding the Macedonian! It's complete! WhisperToMe (talk) 02:39, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello my friend,
About this modification: shouldn't you create the page Народно име ? Even very small ?
Cheers Liné1 (talk) 11:45, 29 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rightly observed. I am aware that anything that appears so often ought to have an article. I had in mind to write it, but other things took me away from it. Now I've written it: Народно име. It's not so small either, just enough to give some idea abot common names. We have biologists involved through our wikiprojects, so I invite them and their mighty literature to develop it further. What I seem to notice is that most languages don't have this article, including some very major ones. A bit strange, is it not? --B. Jankuloski (talk) 07:00, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Language order

[edit]

Hello my friend,
Just a word to tell you that you waste your time when you move ja entries either in {{VN}} or in the interwiki.
My bot will sort the {{VN}} and interwiki by alphabetic order of their shortcut (ja before mk).
See that change as demonstration.
Cheers Liné1 (talk) 19:01, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I had no idea about the bot, but I did wonder why they seem to follow this strange order, by the codes (unlike on Wikipedia, for instance). What is the rationale for that? It makes no sense Suomi to go together with Français and Magyar with Hrvatski, even if we let Japanese (Nihongo) sneak through as ambiguous case because of the writing system. Seems illogical to me...after all, as all this is meant for human reading. --B. Jankuloski (talk) 01:12, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  1. the order in {{VN}} code has no influence on the display. The display order is decided by {{VN}}: first your preference language then hardcoded order. So a shortcut-sorting of the code is more easy for contributors
  2. the order of the interwiki display seems language-dependent:
    • If you look at en:Finch you will see english-sorting of the wikidata-interwiki (日本語 after Македонски, because of the english-traductions 'Nihongo' after 'Macedonian').
    • If you look at fr:Fringillidae or de:Finken you will see shortcut-sorting of the wikidata-interwiki (ja before mk).
    • for wikicommons, I hope that we will soon have wikidata handling automatically the interwikis. But in the meanwhile I think that shortcut-sorting is more easy for contributor, less english oriented, much less diplomatically problematic (日本語 after Македонски is really strange for most german people (not everyone knows about Nihongo ;-))

[edit]
2012 Picture of the Year: A pair of European Bee-eaters in Ariège, France.

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 7 March 2014. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Commons:Picture_of_the_Year/2013/Introduction/en Click here to learn more and vote »]

Macedonian translation request

[edit]

Bjankuloski06en,

First of all, thanks so much for your Macedonian translation of {{Photo scan}}, a multilingual template that I created over a year ago that was originally only in English. I really appreciate it.

I've now created another similar multilingual template called {{Other available license options}}, which is designed to denote that there are other available license options for the given image in addition to the primary one. I believe that this kind of tag is becoming and will continue to become increasingly useful as Creative Commons (and other) licenses continue to release new versions, such as CC's new 4.0 licenses. You can see it in use, in conjunction with the "{{Collapse}}" feature, on my custom license.

If it is not too much to ask, I'd love it if you'd be able to translate this new template into Macedonian, just like you did with {{Photo scan}}. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

The hexagrams in locations 14 and 34 are identical (BBSSSS; B=broken, S=solid), which pairs with SSSSBB in 33, and there is no SBSSSS, which if put in 14 would pair with 13 (SSSSBS). I don't know how to fix the image myself. 189.228.103.48 08:50, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you did a lot of work with the "Created with" templates. Now I am changing the system or structure, all Created with ... templates, SVG or not, use the same single language template. As far as I can see, Created with .../mk is now working fine; but Created with/mk needs some additional editing, to be able to display the W3C state (invalid, uncheckable) and the topic. You can see at other languages (de, en, es, fr, it, pt, ...) how the new structure should work; it depends on whether a language knows gramatical genders and flections how complicated the template's work will be. I do not know anything about slavic languages, but you do - may be you can also maintain the "Created with .../" templates in languages as ru, sr, sh, hr, bs, bg ? You are very cordially invited to help with your skill, that we finally get good translations. If you want, you can see all templates (new one in the upmost line, and all the obsoleted ones) in the large table. -- sarang사랑 07:44, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Text in SVG

[edit]

Hi B., you seem to have the habit to convert text always to pathes. Sometimes this is necessary to get a special appearance that is not possible with font-depending embedded text;
but you do it always without any need, such enlarging e.g. Wikidata statement mk.svg from necessary ~3 KB to 90 KB, and making translations impossible.
I am just trying to generate a multilanguage version of Wikidata statement.svg – but I cannot make a mk language version because you converted all the text to pathes.
Would you mind to give me somehow the mk text – either by making an embedded version, or deliver the text to me by another way, e.g. listing it there?
