সাইট্রাস রুটেসি পরিবারের অন্তর্ভুক্ত সপুষ্পক উদ্ভিদ এবং গুল্মের একটি গণ। এই গণের উদ্ভিদগুলি সাইট্রাস ফল উৎপাদন করে যার মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য কমলা, লেবু, জাম্বুরা, পোমেলো এবং কাগজীলেবুর মতো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ফসল। সাইট্রাস গণের আদি নিবাস দক্ষিণ এশিয়া, পূর্ব এশিয়া, দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব এশিয়া, মেলানেশিয়া ও অস্ট্রেলিয়া। বিভিন্ন সাইট্রাস বৃক্ষ প্রাচীনকাল থেকেই এই অঞ্চলে আদিবাসী সংস্কৃতি দ্বারা ব্যবহৃত এবং চাষ হয়ে আসছে। সেখান থেকে এর চাষ মাইক্রোনেশিয়া এবং পলিনেশিয়ায় অস্ট্রোনেশিয়ার সম্প্রসারণের মাধ্যমে যায় (আনু. ৩০০০-১৫০০ খ্রিস্টপূর্ব); এবং মধ্যপ্রাচ্য এবং ভূমধ্যসাগরে (আনু. ১২০০ খ্রিস্টপূর্ব) ধূপ বাণিজ্যপথের মাধ্যমে এবং পরবর্তীতে ইউরোপ ও আমেরিকায় ছড়িয়ে পড়ে।^[১]^[২]^[৩]^[৪]
