Cartoon Network generally puts out press releases each week documenting their ratings highlights and Toonami has actually been a part of those more often than not this year. However, they are often only of limited value since they often just cover one week at a time and thus we really don't get a good idea of how the block is doing on an overall basis. Now that it is the end of the quarter (April-June) though, we can see how Toonami did over a 3 month period. Also, this will be the first time a whole 3 months of Toonami can be compared against the previous year (in this case, the first 3 months of Toonami Saturday). Here goes:
TOONAMI (2Q05, Saturday, 7-11 p.m.)
* Tweens 9-14 delivery (513,000) bounded ahead by 32% and ratings (2.1) by 31%.
* Kids 6-11 delivery (573,000) and ratings (2.4) both surged by 20%.
Teen Titans (New Episodes, Saturday, 8 p.m.)
* Tweens 9-14 delivery (627,000) blasted ahead by 125% and ratings (2.6) by 136%.
* Kids 6-11 delivery (607,000) increased by 71% and ratings (2.5) by 67%.
Basically, Toonami is up over 30% compared to its first 3 months on Saturdays, and that is nice, sizeable increase. Also, 9-14 ratings are increasing faster than 6-11 ratings and more 9-14s are watching Teen Titans than 6-11s.
