US pricing for anything related to Switch 2 should be considered tentative at this point.

The current United States government is moving ahead with a policy of tariffs (taxes on import) that could potentially cause dramatic increases in Switch and Switch 2 costs.

Announced at a news conference earlier today in Washington, the tariffs establish a minimum baseline tariff of 10% on any import into the United States, with certain countries seeing higher percentages.

Amiibo support for Switch 2 confirmed!

Five new Zelda amiibo were announced by Nintendo today shortly after the Direct. Tears of the Kingdom companions Tulin, Yunobo, Sidon, and Riju will get amiibo June 5th, the same day the Switch 2 releases, and Mineru's Construct will release as an amiibo on a later date. When scanned in Tears of the Kingdom, they "might" grant a paraglider fabric.

Including Borderlands 4, most famous for getting the Seth Rollins "no pop" when it was announced.

As the longest Direct in history, the Switch 2 Direct had a lot of things to cover.

Or at least in a similar timeframe for those without dates.

The ungodly popular games of From Software will be represented on Switch.

One of the first 3rd party announcements of the Direct was the "Tarnished" version of 2022's Elden Ring will come to Switch 2 this year. It will include the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion (2024) plus some new customization options on top.

Would you like a potentially fine Scarlet and Violet, or would you like another "this will give ARMS legs" joke?

It won't just be Switch 2 Edition games that improve from their original form, but some old games will be getting updates.

Nintendo has posted a page detailing games that will receive updates post-Switch 2 launch for better compatibility, or to simply make use of the system's power or features. The games are:

Nintendo Switch 2: Welcome Tour, a paid, playable tutorial minigame collection, launches June 5th.

The digital-only game explores features of the Switch 2, such as mouse mode, HD Rumble 2, and the microphone. Tech demos and minigames shown include golf, a UFO game, and maracas.

A sequel to the Gamecube classic

In one of the final announcements of today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced Kirby Air Riders. The game is being developed in partnership with Masahiro Sakurai. It is a sequel to the Gamecube game Kirby Air Ride.

No specific date has been given at this time but it is expected to release sometime in 2025.

Featuring secret best Tony Hawk game.

It was announced in today's Nintendo Switch 2 direct that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 remakes will be grinding it's way onto Nintendo's new console. Several skate parks were featured, including a teased Bikini Bottom level from SpongeBob SquarePants.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set for a release window of this Summer for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Chances are there's something for everyone. (Sadly, we mean EVERYONE.)

The original AC Adapter is only good for charging, not for playing on TV.

Nintendo has just revealed a comprehensive list of which Nintendo Switch Accessories are not compatible, or only have limited compatibility, with the Switch 2 system.

Notably, the original Switch AC Adapter can charge the Switch 2 when connected directly, but cannot power the system via its new dock to play in TV mode due to "differing power output."

In today’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct Firaxis’ Games announced their recently launched Civilization VII will receive a Nintendo Switch 2 edition. Featuring compatibility with the system’s mouse controls, an upgrade path will be made available for those who purchased the Nintendo Switch version.

After being teased in fine print last week, Nintendo has detailed what exactly a "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" game is.

Switch 2 Editions will offer enhanced graphics and framerate, as well as additional gameplay options to selected games. The first example shown was be a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree on July 24, which will add a new series of dedicated minigames that support the Switch 2 camera and microphone.

A brand new DK in a brand new 3D platformer.

Closing out today's Switch 2 Nintendo Direct was the reveal of the long rumored Donkey Kong 3D platformer. Officially revealed as Donkey Kong Bananza, the new game stars a redesigned Donkey Kong similar in appearence to the design seen in Mario Kart World and the Super Mario Bros. Movie. Though he's also wearing pants this time around.

The Switch 2's mouse controls will have a demo game shortly after launch.

During the Nintendo Direct, a new game called Drag X Drive was shown. Due in the summer, the game uses the JoyCon mouse movement to control a wheelchair in a 3v3 basketball-like game, using the top buttons to shoot and perform dunks.

It's a significant boost.
