Abul Wafa Sanaullah Amritsari (12 June 1868 – 15 March 1948) was a British Indian, later Pakistani, Muslim scholar and a leading figure within the Ahl-e-Hadith movement who was active in the Punjab city of Amritsar. He was an alumnus of Mazahir Uloom and the Darul Uloom Deoband. He was a major antagonist of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and the early Ahmadiya movement. He served as the general secretary of the All India Jamiat-i- Ahl-i-Hadith from 1906 to 1947 and was the editor of the Ahl-e-Hadees, a weekly magazine.

  • ولد الشيخ أبو الوفاء بمدينة امرتسر بالهند عام 1285 هـ وفقد والده ثم والدته وعمره 14 عاما ثم ابتدأ طلب العلم حتى برز فيه، ودرس من عام 1310هـ واهتم بالدعوة والمناظرة والردود على الفرق المخالفة لأهل السنة والجماعة مثل القاديانية والوثنيون من والهندوس وغيرهم ؛ وتعرض للاذى بسبب ذلك. اشتهر بمباهلته لغلام أحمد القادياني مؤسس الجماعة الأحمدية القاديانيةوكانت المباهلة على ان الكاذب يموت في حياة الصادق وقد مات ميرزا غلام أحمد عام 1326 ه‍ قبل وفاة ثناء الله الذي مات عام 1367 هـ.ولكنه هو من رفض هذه المباهلةألف العديد من المؤلفات، وفي آخر حياته هرب مضطرا من أذى السيخ والهندوس إلى لاهور في باكستان وتوفي بها عام 1367 هـ .
