- Salm-Horstmar fou un comtat i principat del Sacre Imperi Romanogermànic. Fou cedit a Frederic Carles August en compensació per l'annexió del seu wild i ringraviat de Salm-Grumbach a França el 1803 i estava situat a Horstmar al nord-est de Munster. Fou mediatitzat el 1806 i el 1814 cedit a Prússia on fou un comtat mediatitzat elevat a principat i par el 1816. El 1892 va vendre el títol a Salm-Salm. La branca encara subsisteix. (ca)
- Die Herrschaft Horstmar war ein mittelalterliches Territorium im Münsterland und fiel 1269 an das Hochstift Münster. Daraus entstand das Amt Horstmar, das bis zum Ende des alten Reiches Bestand hatte. Es fiel im Zuge des Reichsdeputationshauptschlusses 1802/3 an eine Linie des Hauses Salm. Als Grafschaft Salm-Horstmar war das Gebiet bis zur Eingliederung in das Großherzogtum Berg 1806 ein eigenständiges Territorium. - Salm-Horstmar was a short-lived Napoleonic County in far northern North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, located around Horstmar, to the northeast of Münster. It was created in 1803 for Wild- and Rhinegrave of Salm-Grumbach following the loss of Grumbach and other territories west of the Rhine to France. It was mediatised to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1813 and the Wild- and Rhinegrave was awarded a princely title within Prussia three years later. (en)

La contea venne creata nel 1803 per il wild- e renegravio Federico Carlo Augusto di Salm-Grumbach dopo che questi perse Grumbach e altri territori ad Ovest del Reno a favore della Francia.
