- The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI; French: Bureau du surintendant des institutions financières, BSIF) is an independent agency of the Government of Canada reporting to the Minister of Finance created "to contribute to public confidence in the Canadian financial system". It is the sole regulator of banks, and the primary regulator of insurance companies, trust companies, loan companies and pension plans in Canada. The current Superintendent is Peter Routledge, who was appointed in June 2021. He replaced Jeremy Rudin, who retired. The term of the appointment is seven years. (en)
- Le Bureau du surintendant des institutions financières (BSIF) est un organisme fédéral indépendant du gouvernement du Canada, fondé en 1987, qui réglemente et surveille plus de 400 institutions financières et 1 200 régimes de retraite fédéraux pour déterminer s’ils sont en bonne santé financière et s’ils respectent les exigences qui leur sont applicables. Ses deux objectifs primaires sont :
* Accroître la stabilité du système financier canadien
* Lui faire valoir la confiance du public. À cette fin, il surveille et réglemente les banques et les sociétés d'assurances, les sociétés de fiducie et de prêt, ainsi que les régimes de retraite privés de compétence fédérale. Le surintendant en poste est Jeremy Rudin, qui a été nommé en juin 2014, pour un mandat de sept ans. Il succède à Julie Dickson dont le mandat a commencé le 4 juillet 2007.
