The Mendiola massacre, also called Black Thursday by Filipino journalists, was a massacre that took place in Mendiola Street, San Miguel, Manila, Philippines on January 22, 1987, in which state security forces under the rule of President Corazon Aquino violently dispersed a farmers' march to Malacañang Palace in protest of the lack of government action on land reform.
