- Hermética fue una grupo musical de Argentina de thrash metal, fundado en 1988 por Ricardo Iorio tras la disolución de V8. Considerada como una de las agrupaciones más notorias del género en Hispanoamérica y a su vez como el grupo insignia y fundamental del heavy metal argentino. En 1988, el bajista Ricardo Iorio convocó primero al guitarrista Antonio Romano y luego a los ex-Mark I Fabián Spataro y Claudio O'Connor, en batería y voz respectivamente. Spataro la dejó a fines de 1988 por motivos personales y fue reemplazado por Tony Scotto. A finales de 1989 publicaron su álbum de estudio debut titulado Hermética. En 1991 expulsaron a Scotto y lo reemplazaron por Claudio Strunz. A fines de ese año lanzaron su segundo álbum de estudio, Ácido argentino, el más exitoso del grupo musical, y al año siguiente se presentan en el Estadio Obras Sanitarias dos veces, como teloneros de Motörhead y luego de Black Sabbath. En 1994, finalmente alcanzan su mayor auge en el territorio argentino y lanzan su último álbum de estudio Víctimas del vaciamiento, siendo certificado como disco de oro, participan en el festival Monsters of Rock, y realizan conciertos nuevamente en el Estadio Obras Sanitarias, esta vez como cabeza de cartel. A pesar del éxito, el grupo se separó en diciembre de 1994 por conflictos internos y tras su disolución se formaron dos nuevos grupos. Claudio O'Connor, Antonio Romano y Claudio Strunz formaron Malón junto con el bajista Karlos Cuadrado. Por su parte, Ricardo Iorio formó Almafuerte junto al guitarrista Claudio Marciello y al baterista Claudio Cardacci. Actualmente se están llevando a cabo una serie de recitales en homenaje al legendaria grupo musical. Los integrantes de Malón son los responsables de La H no murió, una serie de recitales que recorre la historia de Hermética con las clásicas y míticas canciones que hicieron vibrar a una generación. Veintisiete años después de la separación, los fanes vuelven y en muchos casos llevan a sus hijos para que conozcan a un emblema del metal de Argentina. (es)
- Hermética was an Argentine thrash metal band from San Martín, Buenos Aires. It was formed by bassist Ricardo Iorio in 1987 after his previous band, V8, disbanded. Hermética was signed to the independent record label Radio Trípoli Discos throughout their career. The band's initial lineup consisted of Iorio, vocalist Claudio O'Connor, drummer Fabián Spataro and guitarist Antonio Romano. Spataro left the band in 1988 and was replaced by Antonio Scotto. This lineup recorded their eponymous album, the first thrash metal album recorded in Argentina. At this point of their career, Hermética performed mainly in Argentina, except for one concert held in Uruguay. In 1990, they released Intérpretes—an extended play which included covers of Argentine rock and tango songs. Both albums were released by Radio Trípoli Discos as a single CD when digital technology became available. Scotto left the band in 1991 and was replaced by drummer Claudio Strunz. This lineup recorded the band's second studio album, Ácido Argentino. Hermética opened for Black Sabbath and Motörhead during their visits to Argentina, but had to cancel their headlining tour in Paraguay. They recorded a live album, En vivo 1993 Argentina, and took part in a concert at a penal facility. They participated in the first Argentine Monsters of Rock festival, which featured Black Sabbath, Slayer, and Kiss. Their last studio album, Víctimas del Vaciamiento, was released in 1994. To promote the album, the group held a concert at the Obras Sanitarias stadium later that year. Hermética disbanded at the end of 1994, a few days before their second concert in Obras. Ricardo Iorio, who performed lead vocals on a number of tracks, formed a new band, Almafuerte, and served as its vocalist. The remaining ex-members of Hermética hired a new bassist and created the band Malón. Both bands began a mutual rivalry after their respective establishment. (en)
