- A harpsichord concerto is a piece of music for an orchestra with the harpsichord in a solo role (though for another sense, see below). Sometimes these works are played on the modern piano (see piano concerto). For a period in the late 18th century, Joseph Haydn and Thomas Arne wrote concertos that could be played interchangeably on harpsichord, fortepiano, and (in some cases) pipe organ. (en)

- Con l'espressione concerto per clavicembalo si intende una composizione musicale per orchestra nella quale il clavicembalo svolge il ruolo di solista. A volte, quando le caratteristiche dello spartito lo permettono e il brano non necessita obbligatoriamente delle due tastiere del clavicembalo, questi concerti vengono eseguiti anche al pianoforte. Alla fine del XVIII secolo Franz Joseph Haydn e Thomas Arne composero concerti eseguibili indifferentemente su clavicembalo, fortepiano e (in alcuni casi) organo a canne. (it)
