- Félix Cazot (Orleans, 6 d'abril de 1790 - París, 24 de desembre de 1857) fou un pianista, compositor i pedagog francès. Estudià en el conservatori de París i el 1812 aconseguí el Prix de Rome per la seva cantata Madame de la Vallière. Dos anys més tard es va casar amb la cantant , a la que seguí a Brussel·les, on van romandre ambdós esposos durant deu anys. El 1825 retornaren a París, i Félix es dedicà a l'ensenyança del piano, i va escriure un Mètode per aquest instrument. (ca)

Cazot studierte ab 1804 am Conservatoire de Paris Klavier bei , Harmonielehre bei Charles Simon Catel sowie Komposition bei François-Joseph Gossec und François-Joseph Fétis. 1812 gewann er mit der Kantate Madame de la Vallière den premier Second Grand Prix de Rome. 1814 heiratete Cazot die Sängerin , die Nichte und Schülerin von , mit der er nach Belgien ging, als sie 1817 ein Engagement am Theater von Brüssel bekam. Er wirkte in Brüssel als Klavierlehrer und veröffentlichte hier Variationen über das Lied Au claire de la lune für Klavier. Nach Ablauf des Vertrages kehrte Cazot 1826 nach Paris zurück. Hier gründete er eine Klavierschule und veröffentlichte eine Méthode élémentaire de piano. (de)

In 1812, he won the Prix de Rome for his cantata Madame de la Vallière. In 1814, Cazot married the singer Joséphine Armand, the niece and pupil of Anne-Aimeé Armand, with whom he went to Belgium when she was engaged at the Brussels Theatre in 1817. He taught the piano in Brussels from 1814 to 1821. Then he returned to Paris to continue teaching. He mainly composed pieces for the piano. He wrote a Méthode moderne et facile pour le piano-forte. Cazot died in Paris at age 67. (en)
