- Escalator over the Hill (oder EOTH) von Carla Bley wird meistens als Jazzoper bezeichnet; veröffentlicht wurde das bahnbrechende Werk im Frühjahr 1972 mit dem Untertitel „Chronotransduction“ mit „Worten von Paul Haines, Adaptation und Musik von Carla Bley, Produktion und Koordination von Michael Mantler“, gespielt von einer Vielzahl namhafter Musiker aus (Free) Jazz, Rock und Pop, unter anderem auch aus dem Jazz Composer’s Orchestra (JCOA). 1997 wurde in Köln zum ersten Mal eine Liveversion von Escalator over the Hill aufgeführt, anschließend folgte eine Konzerttournee. Im Mai 2006 fand eine weitere Aufführung in Essen statt. (de)
