- L'Institut Cultural Romanès, (en romanès Institutul Cultural Român) és una institució que promou la cultura romanesa dintre i fora del territori romanès, motiu pel qual és el principal agent de promoció internacional cultural de Romania. L'ICR ha reorganitzat la (en romanès Fundaţiei Culturale Române) i l' (en romanès Editurii Fundaţiei Culturale Române). L'Institut Cultural Romanès, que té la seu central a Bucarest, està sota l'autoritat directe del President de Romania, essent aquest el President d'Honor de l'Institut. El President actual de l'Institut és Horia-Roman Patapievici. En el període comprès entre els anys 2005 i 2008, l'ICR està portant a terme tot un seguit de projectes, essent la prioritat de l'Institut establir ponts de comunicació entre les diferents comunitats de parla romanesa que estan ubicades als diferents estats veïns de Romania. L'Institut, que va començar les seves activitats l'any 1992 i organitza any rere any cursos d'estiu per perfeccionar l'ensanyament i l'aprenentatge del romanès. La filial de l'Institut Cultural Romanès, té una filial a Transsilvània, el (en romanès Centrul de Studii Transilvane), dedicant-se a potenciar activitats culturals pròpies de Transsilvània. (ca)

Es unterliegt der Befehlshoheit des Rumänischen Senats, vormals der Präsidentialadministration. Seine Aufgabe ist es, die rumänische Kultur im Ausland bekanntzumachen und ihre Wahrnehmbarkeit zu stärken. Das Institutul Cultural Român verfügt über ein Netzwerk von 19 Instituten, die in 17 verschiedenen Ländern tätig sind, und ist außerdem Teil der EUNIC, der Vereinigung der Kulturinstitute der Mitgliedsstaaten der Europäischen Union. Das Institut wird von rumänischen Schriftstellern wie der Nobelpreisträgerin Herta Müller kritisiert, dass es zu abhängig von der rumänischen Regierung sei. - The Romanian Cultural Institute (Romanian: Institutul Cultural Român, ICR), headquartered in Bucharest, was established in 2004 on the older institutional framework provided by the Romanian Cultural Foundation and before 1989 by the Institute for the Cultural Relations Abroad. Since 2005 it has undergone a tremendous development that has seen a solid increase in the number and geographic dispersion of its chapters, now 18-strong. Working in tandem with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in partnership with countless indigenous and foreign organizations, the Romanian Cultural Institute's presence is firmly established in Europe, North America, Middle East, and China as it has become the main promoter of international cultural relations in the Romanian public ecosystem.
