- The 2017 Japanese Super Formula Championship was the forty-fifth season of premier Japanese open-wheel motor racing, and the fifth under the moniker of Super Formula. Yuji Kunimoto is the defending series champion. Hiroaki Ishiura won his second Driver's Championship in three years, finishing only half a point ahead of Pierre Gasly after the final round was cancelled due to Typhoon Lan. Era previsto anche un ultimo weekend di gare, da disputarsi sul Circuito di Suzuka tra il 21 e 22 ottobre, nel quale erano previste due corse, cancellato però per il maltempo. - Het Super Formula seizoen 2017 was het 31e seizoen van het belangrijkste Japanse formulewagenkampioenschap. Yuji Kunimoto was de verdedigend kampioen uit 2016, waarin kampioen in het teamklassement werd. Hiroaki Ishiura werd kampioen nadat de twee races in het laatste raceweekend werden afgelast vanwege een naderende tyfoon. De jonge Europese coureurs Pierre Gasly en Felix Rosenqvist werden tweede en derde in de eindstand.
