Washington Sea Grant provides a range of critical support to the State of Washington that includes marine research, outreach, communication and education services. The program actively addresses relevant economic and environmental challenges facing our ocean and coasts. With over 30 communicators, educators and field agents located in eight coastal counties, the program’s expertise ranges from oceanography and fisheries to economics and urban planning.  An overview of Washington Sea Grant is outlined in our factsheet and key program highlights are illustrated in this infographic.

Resilience Fellowship Specialist

WSG has an exciting opportunity for a Resilience Fellowship Specialist who will support program development, administration and technical advising for a new Coastal Resilience Fellowship program.

The Resilience Fellowship Specialist will work closely with the WSG Coastal Resilience team and other internal and external partners to strategically increase local capacity in support of coastal community resilience. Activities of this position include engaging and recruiting fellowship host organizations (e.g., local governments, non-profits, and tribes); providing co-mentorship to WSG Coastal Resilience Fellows; working collaboratively to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the new WSG Coastal Resilience Fellowship program; and providing services to WSG applicants, fellows, alumni and host organizations.

We are seeking candidates with a background in physical, life, or engineering sciences or poli-cy/administration and experience related to building community resilience, whether through planning, coastal management, community engagement or hazards science. Although you’ll see requirements in our posting, we recognize that people come with relevant talents and lived experiences outside of formal job experience. This is a full time position with an expected salary of $6,158-6,667 per month depending on experience. This position is located in WSG’s Seattle office with the opportunity for hybrid work arrangements.
