A popular, consistent, good quality beach break that breaks over sand and rock. The beach is a black sand volcanic beach. On a big south or southwest swell this break starts to barrel nicely. The wave generally works best in a north east wind.
The wave starts working in a small swell but can hold upto 2m+. Tides are not a problem as this wave will work on any tide.
The beach can be found by following the signs from the center of Nosara. You will need to drive. It's about 350 kms from San Jose. You go from San Jose to Niccoya and from there to Nosara. It takes approx. 5 hours to get there.
There are places to stay in Nosara which is not too far away. You could also consider camping.
Free access, no cost for parking.
