Natasha Helena Kowalowski of Duluth MN, age 56, passed away peacefully on Sept 15, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Barbara Kowalowski and brother Joe Kowalowski. A free spirit and dedicated nurse, she loved to care for people. She is survived by sister, Tanya (Kowalowski) Spanfellner and many close friends and relations. Steve John Semenchuk, 87, of Duluth MN, passed away peacefully at Essentia Health on Monday, Sept. 16, after a brief illness.
Lois Marie (Paaso) Perala, beloved mother, grandmother, GG, partner and friend, departed just after midnight, September 16, pulled finally by energy of a Super September moon. Lois, name meaning “Superior”, was born on November 28, 1935 to George and Senia Paaso in Duluth, Minnesota. Her father was born in Finland & her mother came from Finnish immigrants. Mom learned “Sisu” from a young age. Her love of life, family and determination to live followed her to the end, leaving a lasting impact on all the people who knew and loved her vibrant spirit.
Janice Katherine Budge (Carlson), 84, a Morgan Park H.S. Alum and resident of Webster, WI, passed away on Sept. 16, 2024 at her cabin in Port Wing with family by her side. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 11 AM at the Jackson Cemetery in Webster, WI, with a luncheon to follow at The Shop Bar & Grill.

David was born on Feb 14, 1932 and entered heaven’s realm on Sep 10, 2024. His early years found him enjoying physical activities on the open spaces in and around Ridgeview Country Club and being educated at Cobb Elementary and Central High Schools. He was an accomplished golfer and multi-sport athlete. He especially enjoyed running competing in numerous competitions and eating health foods, especially his beloved home made “hunza bread.” His work experiences included Reserve Mining and a variety of construction, surveying, and engineering jobs in CO, AZ, and MN. He attended Duluth Gospel Tabernacle Church for many years and had a profound appreciation for the Bible, reading, studying, and singing its words and messages. Preceded in death by parents David & Mary Blomdahl; sons David and Gregory Blomdahl; brothers Roger, Don, & Bob. He is survived by daughters Cynthia Blomdahl (Ian Allison) and Linda (David Hutchison, deceased) of Phoenix, AZ; siblings Marilyn (Bill Scarbrough) of Porterville, CA, Sharon (Gerald Pavola), Paul (Joanne Blomdahl), Joel (Kathy Blomdahl) all of Duluth; and Mariann (Robert Ross) of Superior; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Memorial service to be held Wed, Sep 25, 1 pm, Hope City Church, 417 N 3rd Ave East, Duluth.

12/1/1933 -9/16/2024 Joanne Mlodozyniec, 90, died Monday, at North Shore Estates. Joanne was born in Duluth to Joseph and Josephine Mlodozyniec. She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1952 and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Joanne’s career started at Northshore Manufacturing and later Garon’s Knitting Mill, ending at Fond Du-Luth Casino. She played women’s softball in her early years, bowled in three women’s scratch leagues for over 25 years, played in a cribbage league and enjoyed playing Bingo at many locations as well as a bingo caller for St. Jean’s. She was proceeded in death by her parents; siblings: Sophie, Chester, Joseph/Moniak, Irene, Walter, Lorraine, Eugene, Gerald/Butch, Patricia and Dianne. Joanne is survived by 3 siblings, Robert of Duluth, Lucille Hoppe of Sheldon, IA. and Emeline/Babe (Harry) Brock of Canyon, MN; 30 nieces and nephews; 60 great nieces and nephews and 96 other relatives. The family wishes to give special thanks to the 2nd floor staff at North Shore Estates and Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they provided to Joanne for the past 2 years. Joanne requested no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at Harrison Community Club on Monday, September 23rd from 4pm-7pm.
Timothy Edward Knoedler died September 9th peacefully in his home. He lived as a philosopher of life, and is survived by his wife Candace Knoedler and children Dr Vanessa Knoedler, Dr Patrick Knoedler, and Airforce Lieutenant Colonel Paul Knoedler. He is preceded by his parents Drs John and Mary Knoedler. Also survived by his loving siblings of Dr John, Regina, Dr Dan, Dr Mary, Dr Chris, Therese, Rosemary, and Beatrice. He will have a ceremony in Mosinee Wisconsin soon with his late brother Peter as a celebration of life.
