About us
The work of the Controller and Auditor-General is carried out by the Office of the Auditor-General, Audit New Zealand, and private sector auditing firms. Audit New Zealand is a stand-alone business unit with its own website.
Within the Office of the Auditor-General there are six different teams. Each team is led by an Assistant Auditor-General. The teams are:
- Accounting and Auditing Policy
- Legal Group
- Local Government
- Parliamentary Group
- Performance Audit Group, and
- Research and Development.
One Corporate Services Team, also led by an Assistant Auditor-General, supports both the Office of the Auditor-General and Audit New Zealand.
Leadership Team
Our Leadership Team currently includes:
- the Deputy Auditor-General, and
- each of the Assistant Auditors-General.
The OAG Leadership Team meets twice every month. It considers all OAG business and work programme matters. The Executive Director of Audit New Zealand attends to ensure that information flows easily and regularly between the OAG and Audit New Zealand.
