New Music Friday - this week's biggest new song, album and DVD releases, all in one place

New Music Friday songs singles albums June 6th 2025

Welcome to New Music Friday, your one place to discover the biggest new song, album and DVD releases.

Let's start with this week's singles, which include Manchild, a brand-new song from Sabrina Carpenter. The playful pop purveyor spent a record 21 weeks at Number 1 in 2024 – more than any other artist has managed in a calendar year – with her chart-topping hits Espresso, Please Please Please and Taste.

Could Manchild notch her first week at Number 1 in 2025?

Ed Sheeran unveils Sapphire, the third single from his upcoming eighth studio album PLAY, following Azizam (Number 3) and Old Phone (Number 17). He'll be hoping to add to his incredible tally of 42 UK Top 10 songs.

Teddy Swims shares new single God Went Crazy – could it become his fourth consecutive UK Top 10 hit? – while FINNEAS and Ashe re-team for The Little Mess You Made. They previously cracked the UK Top 40 with their 2021 collaboration Till Forever Falls Apart.

There are new singles, too, from two female solo artists with stellar Official Singles Chart records: Mariah Carey (24 Top 10s) drops Type Dangerous and Rita Ora (13 Top 10s) shares Heat.

Listen out for Brick By Brick, the new single from UK girl-group Say Now, and Love Language, the second single from Mimi Webb's upcoming second album Confessions.

Ahead of her upcoming Justin Timberlake support slots this summer, Chinchilla serves up Avoidance this week.

And JADE's sparkling cover of Madonna's iconic 1998 chart-topper Frozen – which JADE recently performed at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend and Mighty Hoopla festival – is now available to stream on all digital service providers.

Now, let's move on to this week's albums.

Britpop icons Pulp return with More, their first studio set in 23 years. Could it become their third UK Number 1 album following Different Class (1995) and This Is Hardcore (1998)?

Mercury Prize-winning hip-hop queen Little Simz shares her sixth studio album Lotus, while fast-rising main pop girl Addison Rae drops her debut LP Addison.

The Ting Tings return with Home, their first studio album in seven years and fifth overall, and hardcore punks Turnstile unleash their fourth studio album Never Enough.

Emmy, Grammy and Tony winner Cynthia Erivo – who's also a three-time Oscar nominee – unveils her second studio album I Forgive You.

Welsh pop alchemist MARINA drops Princess of Power, her sixth studio album, and first to be released as an independent artist. She'll be hoping to add to her tally of four UK Top 10 albums, which includes the 2012 chart-topper Electra Heart.

And finally, visionary artists Brian Eno and Beatie Wolfe team up for the twin collaborative albums Lateral and Luminal.
