We are committed to making our website accessible to all people, regardless of ability. To this end, the website is currently partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines. Extensive work is being undertaken to increase this to full compliance on all pages of the site.

Currently the site uses files from various agencies in HTML and PDF formats as well as HTML created specifically for the site.

The site contains a large volume of legacy data.

Tables: Some tables on this website do not yet have correctly defined headers. This makes it harder for people using screen readers or voice recognition software to read the content on the site. This is being addressed it is planned to be completely eliminated as an issue.

Images: Not all images on this website have descriptions. This relates to historic data and decorative elements.

PDFs: Many documents are published as PDFs. All these files were supplied to the site by other agencies and not created specifically. They were published on the site to allow printing of Acts and SIs. All text in these PDFs duplicates compliant text already on the site in HTML. Additionally, many of these PDFs are old and were created from images of old manuscripts. It is planned to make more recent, post 2018 PDFs, WCAG compliant. Earlier PDF content is exempted.

The site is tested weekly, and additional third party audits are performed at least on an annual basis. The feedback from these tests is being used to improve the compliance of the website.
