User Editing During Ongoing Dispute Resolution – Request for Administrator Intervention

[edit]

Involved User: @Skitash Article: Algeria Date: 18 aug 2024 Summary of the Issue: I am writing to report that User @Skitash has continued to edit the article Algeria despite an ongoing dispute resolution process. The discussion on this matter is currently taking place on the article's talk page and/or a formal dispute resolution page Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard. However, the user has made several edits to the article, which undermines the integrity of the resolution process. Details: Ongoing Dispute Resolution: The dispute was brought to Dispute Resolution Page today. The matter is actively being discussed by multiple editors. Despite the ongoing discussion, User @Skitash made the following edits:

1240947874

this is problematic due to the first source provided by the violating editor which has a problematic nature as discussed in the Talk:Algeria#Ethnic groups Algeria, the user is stacking sources to hide this.

Impact on Dispute Resolution:

These edits are disruptive because they cause stacking of sources that are controversial to one another

. This behavior goes against Wikipedia's principles of collaboration and consensus-building, particularly during dispute resolution.

Request:

I kindly request that an administrator reviews this situation and takes appropriate action. This may include warning the user, temporarily blocking them from editing the article, or protecting the article to prevent further disruption while the dispute is resolved.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please let me know if any further information is needed. Potymkin (talk) 13:07, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have had a quick look and it appears like it is a complicated issue to handle without some knowledge of the area in question. I will be away without internet connection for a couple of weeks so feal that I will not have chance to look at this at the present time. I think you need to look for some one with some background in the area of dispute. Keith D (talk) 19:05, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
thank you very much for your input, it is greatly valued. I understand your situation and I am happy you had time to reply, thankfully some admins intervened and now have found a final solution, its to completely remove talk about ethnicity for a country page of Algeria which is a republic with no real official stance on race as a type of government that disregards racial background. I hope you have a nice day sir Potymkin (talk) 22:30, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Further Guidance on Improving Draft:Md Zillul Karim

[edit]

Hi Keith D,

I hope you're doing well. First, I'd like to thank you for the recent corrections and improvements you made to the draft article, **Draft:Md Zillul Karim**. Your help has been incredibly valuable, especially with spacing and formatting.

The draft has gone through a few rounds of revision, but I am still seeking to improve its chances of approval. I was wondering if you might have any further suggestions or advice on how I can strengthen the article, particularly in terms of tone or sources.

I would greatly appreciate any additional guidance you might be able to provide to help ensure the draft meets Wikipedia’s standards for approval.

Thank you again for your time and contributions! 103.178.94.2 (talk) 22:47, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bintyamin20248 (talkcontribs) 23:05, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I can probably deal with the formatting problems with the article rather than the referencing.
  • Bold Zillul Karim at the start of the article.
  • Remove the leading zero from the dates that have full months in them.
  • Move the <ref></ref> tags before the punctuation.
  • "over 200,000 User" change to "over 200,000 users" and add full stop.
  • karim need capitalising.
  • "Organized by BRAC (organisation) H&M and" is missing some text and a full stop. Though could be that the "and" needs removing.
  • In the Biography section there are 2 bare URLs, I would move these to references and fill in the detail.
Hopefully this will help. Keith D (talk) 23:13, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Keith D,
Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and for taking the time to help with the formatting of the article. I've made the changes you suggested, including capitalizing "Karim," fixing the date format, and adjusting the references. Your insights have been extremely helpful.
If you have any more time to take a look, I would greatly appreciate any further suggestions you might have for improving the article, especially regarding tone, structure, or other areas that could enhance its chances of approval. I truly value your expertise as a senior editor, and any additional guidance would be very helpful.
Thank you once again for your time and support! 103.178.94.2 (talk) 21:18, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Keith,
Thank you again for the edits you've made to the article after its recent resubmission. I appreciate the effort you've put into improving the tone and structure.
Since the article has been resubmitted, do you think it’s now ready for approval, or is there anything else we should address before the review is complete? Your guidance has been really helpful, and I just want to ensure we’re in the best position for approval this time.
Thanks for your help! Bintyamin20248 (talk) 10:37, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is https://www.thedailystar.net/supplements/your-property-guru/news/committed-sustainable-and-smart-living-3704621 which is dated today from The Daily Star. But could be about a different person as says MD of Credence Housing Limited and there is no mention of this in article. Keith D (talk) 01:38, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Keith,
Thank you so much for your valuable feedback and for pointing that out. I wanted to clarify that the *The Daily Star* article you mentioned is about a different person with the same name and is unrelated to my draft. I did not include any references related to that individual in my article.
However, I have used other references that are directly about Zillul Karim, the subject of my article. These include:
- *The Daily Observer*: [Exclusive Interview of Md Zillul Karim](https://www.observerbd.com/news.php?id=467417)
- *The Daily Star*: [ToguMogu app: Hacking your way to better parenting](https://www.thedailystar.net/toggle/news/togumogu-app-hacking-your-way-better-parenting-1986497?amp) — which highlights the award won by the company Karim founded.
I hope this clears up any confusion, and I truly appreciate your guidance throughout this process. Please let me know if there’s anything else that needs attention. Bintyamin20248 (talk) 10:32, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Just wondering if you would take the responsibility as an admin of closing the move request at Talk:3DO Interactive Multiplayer and performing the moves as agreed upon? Sceeegt (talk) 22:44, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sceeegt: I have made the move. You may have to clean-up some of the templates, I have done the ones with the name in them directly. Keith D (talk) 23:13, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks. Sceeegt (talk) 23:22, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
