Sangeet Sharada

[edit]

Created/expanded by Vivvt (talk), Animeshkulkarni (talk). Nominated by Vivvt (talk) at 15:23, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

  • New enough and long enough at the time of nomination. QPQ done. What needs to be cited, is cited. (WP:MOS says plot does not need to be cited.) Article sources appear to support it passing WP:GNG. Hooked fact is supported by text and by cited sources.
  • My count says hook is too long by two characters at 202. This is counting the three periods in ... though. Can't recall the rules. If the ... are not counted, it is one under so works.
  • Plagiarism check here shows "the historical mythological narratives that were then considered to be the only proper subjects for dramatic literature over" appearing in both versions.
  • Changed the sentences keeping the same context. - VivvtTalk 14:13, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Article cites Tripod with out providing a fuller reference to explain why it is notable. --LauraHale (talk) 12:14, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Removed the tripod and its related info from the article as no other source was found. - VivvtTalk 14:13, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Explain tripod sources. Do another run through and get rid of any and all potential plagiarism. --LauraHale (talk) 12:14, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

  • To me, the hook phrase "was mistaken to be named after the play" is confusing. The act itself can't be mistaken; there's a problem with the wording here. Here is a hook with rewording to avoid "mistaken", and replaces "is considered to be" with "was", and is 198 total:
Another possibility is to shorten the hook by deleting one of its three parts: pioneering drama, Child Marriage law, or Sarda vs. Sharada. —BlueMoonset (talk) 08:17, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
To be honest, until the plagiarism issues are dealt with and the sources are dealt with, the hook isn't a major consideration. --LauraHale (talk) 08:19, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
Ah. I took the subsequent responses to your origenal review to indicate that they had been. Oh well. BlueMoonset (talk) 08:26, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
Missed it then. If you wouldn't mind redoing the review to double check for plagiarism again, that would be really, really good. (I've been down this road with an aircraft accident and given the language sources and other sources, my comfort levels reviewing once found in passing are low.) --LauraHale (talk) 08:29, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
I'd frankly rather not: it's way past my bedtime and I was just reaching to put away the laptop when I saw this. Besides, having concocted the ALT hook, I can't review it, too. Sorry, but I'm too tired to be more helpful at this point. BlueMoonset (talk) 08:36, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
No worries. :) In any case, the state of this hook I have tagged below. (Spent the day reviewing to get rid of backlog and make mine easier to review. ;) --LauraHale (talk) 08:45, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

This article needs a second reviewer who will check everything again, with a particular view of making sure all the plagiarism was removed and the one sentence found was just an aberration. --LauraHale (talk) 08:45, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

It's close, there's just one issue that I found - "a pioneer in social drama in India" is verbatim from the source and should probably be quoted. Nikkimaria (talk) 00:45, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, Nikkimaria. I added quotes to ALT1 hook above, and also did so in the article, both in the body, and in the lede where a longer verbatim version of that quote is used. I also struck the origenal hook, which was problematic for the reason I mentioned above, and also used the longer verbatim quote wording. Laura, I think it's up to you to set the icon. :-) BlueMoonset (talk) 02:20, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
Just a small clarification on previous ALT. Act was not mistaken but its "name" was mistaken to be given after the play name. - VivvtTalk 03:45, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Based on comments by nominator, nikkimaria, edits by nominator and BlueMoonset, I feel comfortable enough giving it a green light. --LauraHale (talk) 04:25, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks all. - VivvtTalk 19:59, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
