A village described as the “most beautiful” in England is set to restrict the arrival of coachloads of tourists after going viral on TikTok.

Bibury in Gloucestershire has become “intolerable” after an influx of sightseers which councillors claim poses a safety risk to residents of the Cotswolds village.

Its picturesque centre sits on the River Coln and tourists flock to see the local Saxon church and rows of 17th-century weavers’ cottages. Its charming appearance led William Morris, the 19th-century designer, to rank Bibury as the most appealing village in the country.
